Q: Can this speaker be placed on its side?
A: yes, it can be placed on it's side.
A: yes, these would be perfect for front L & R it will also be perfect for the center. it's always best for fluid timbre matching to have 3 of the same speakers across the front wall. they are designed to be easily mounted on the wall or can sit on furniture. these speakers have I believe to be 11 different ways to mount them on walls or ceilings. best of luck, I love them, I use them as Dolby ATMOS & DTS:X on ceiling speakers! I have no doubt they will work perfectly for your needs. you WILL need a sub to bring up the low end.
Q: what kind of wall mounts go wirh this?
A: these speakers have cutouts on the back of them for wall mounting. it also comes with a template for marking walls to put the needed anchors onto the wall for mounting. you must supply your own anchors and screws for mounting. once done, the speakers will simply drop down onto the screws you have in the wall and hang onto them. hope this helps.
