Going back to vinyl
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This turntable is hard to operate when you have had to much Bourbon to drink due to the Anti-skate weight however this is mostly due to the place I choose to set it (under another shelve). This turntable sounds great and mixes well with my system which is an older fairly good quality amp preamp type. My wife and I have had a good time going back to vinyl after many years. We also had to buy a pre pre amp to go between the turntable and our preamp because our preamp is not setup for a turntable input. I spent about 100 on this and it works well

Best Turntable for $400
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to setup from unpacking to dialing in. plenty of Youtube videos if the instructions don't work for you. No issues with hum from the cable supplied as reported by some. The Ortofon cart does produce a lot of "Needs talk" but this is common. I dialed it in a couple of times with no change, the cart does seem to pick up static and pops and clicks more than I would like but sound is great. Clean good condition records are a must, probably will change the mat and get an anti-static brush

PRO-JECT Debut Stereo Turntable
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great looking and easy to assemble even though I haven't owned a Turntable in in 30 years. The reason for the "Good" review vs "Great" was the need to go to YouTube for balancing the counterweight and anti-skating piece, and the fact it doesn't come with adjustable feet. So getting a dead even surface can be challenging. The sound quality is spot on and am glad I bought the vinyl cleaner kit to get the dust off my albums Recommend this unit!

Great Turntable for the Money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm new to the world of vinyl and wanted a turntable that was good quality and relatively inexpensive. The various audiophile and vinyl forums that I researched all gave the ProJect Debut Carbon rave reviews, and I must say I couldn't agree more. It was very easy to setup with my Pioneer Elite receiver & Klipsch speakers and sounds amazing. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Looks great sounds great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't say that this is better or worse than any turntable unless I had them side by side listening to the same album. In addition I have used albums that I bought and some have lots of"pops". With that being said overall it sounds good to my ears. It was easy but watching YouTube to see how they do it helped (still not complex). PLEASE NOTE: unless your receiver has a phono input you will need to get a preamp and that will cost another $100+ depending on the quality of the preamp.

Quality Entry-Level Turntable
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the Planar turntable first. It had a hum, wobble of the platter and spindle noise. Build quality was not as good as the Pro-ject Debut. The cartridge is inferior to the cartridge on the Pro-ject. The Pro-ject was solid as a rock and much heavier than the Planar. It has a beautiful glossy finish. And it performs magnificently. You need a preamp or a phono input for this turntable. I would recommend using high quality shielded RCA cables instead of the ones in the box. The cable included can be easily and cleanly seperated, so I used the ground wire from the cable included. So basically, I used two good quality RCA cables and the ground cable from the cable included with the turntable. You attach the ground cable from the turntable to the preamp or to the amplifier if the amplifier has a phono input. When the turntable is turned on, there is absolutely no hum coming from the speakers. The only thing I didn't like was the anti-skating setup. The nylon string is really thin and barely visible so it can be a little tricky attaching it to the bar. Also, the groove on the bar where the string is supposed to be attached to is not deep enough so sometimes it slids off. Balancing the tonearm is easy but I would recommend watching a video on YouTube to show you how. Overall, I am very happy with my Pro-ject Debut turntable.
