QuestionWhat is the difference between Photoshop Elements and Premier Elements? Why do some Adobe packages have BOTH Photoshop Elements and Premier Elements?

- Answer Photoshop Elements is a photo editing and organizing program. Fabulous product. I've used it for years and it just keeps getting better. Premier Elements is a video/movie editing program. Create home videos by editing and "stitching" Shorter video clips together into one production. There is a cost saving if you buy both programs together in one package. But if you only take photos, or have no need for a video editing program, just buy the Photoshop Elements. The disks include both Windows and Mac versions.

QuestionWhat format is this in? How do I install on my MacBook?

- Answer I bought it as a gift. The recipient told me that, although there is a CD in the box, you don’t have to use that. There are instructions on how to download it from the Internet and install it without needing the disc.

- Answer For this version (2020), you need to buy one copy for Windows and one copy for Mac O/S. You can't buy one version and have it work on both types of operating systems like before. I already talked to Adobe customer service about this. I wanted to install Photoshop Elements on both my Windows PC and my iMac.

- Answer Yes,this can read uncompressed images ( RAW files) captured by any digital cameras or scanner. There is an option in the file menu "open in camera raw." It appears to be very similar to the function in other Adobe Photoshop programs.

- Answer Adobe offers an online download, but since nobody at Best Buy or Adobe could find the serial number, it wouldn’t work. Best Buy gave me a refund.

- Answer Yes, but not automatically. This is easily done using the dodge tool. Just adjust the brush size to the size of the face you want to lighten. Place the tool over the face and click a few times to desired level.

- Answer Yes, there are various ways to combine photos in Photoshop. If you haven’t used Photoshop before you will have to use tutorials or videos to help.

QuestionHow is this software for video editing and ease of posting videos on YouTube?

- Answer I have made a couple of videos using photos, videos, inserted text and sound. It was like a advanced version of power point, it dosn't have all the tools do do what I wanted to do, may need to upgrade to get those. As far as YouTube goes I haven't put anything on my YouTube page yetn if you can create a video then you should be able to insert one.

QuestionCan you use this software to import photos from iPhones to a Windows PC? If so, can they be put in a folder on your hard drive so you can work with them outside of Adobe?

- Answer Yes, iPhone photos are in a .HEIF file format by default (can be changed to .jpg within the phone). Elements 2020 now does .HEIF files (2019 does not). Once opened, the file can be saved as another format to be used by something else.

- Answer I haven't installed my new copy of the 2020 version yet but I did pick up 2 books about it. "Photoshop Elements Tips, Tricks & Shortcuts" 2020 edition There are 2 pages devoted to importing RAW files and manually editing functions that are usually performed when an image is captured. If the book is accurate, RAW files can be imported and customized.

- Answer I seriously doubt it. My 2019 version did not work with my new computer; thats why i bought the 2020 version from Bestbuy. This is a question for Adobe.
