Yes, it does work for mirroring.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I believe so. I use a Dell Latitude 7389 with it, which has two USB-C ports (plus HDMI, USB-A). One of the USB-C ports is used for power (the Aluratek doesn't have a separate power source), and the other is the Aluratek. The Aluratek HDMI port is the one I use to connect to the monitor (I assume the Dell monitor you have also has HDMI in?). The USB-A ports on the Aluratek are used for keyboard and mouse. If you don't have an HDMI in on the monitor, then that could be an issue -- I tried a USB-A to VGA converter off the aluratek, and that didn't work. One other thing - if you have an HDMI in on the monitor, you could just mirror the laptop directly (HDMI out of laptop to HDMI in on the monitor), or expand the display. Hope this helps.
