- Answer Yes. I bought it for the iPad Pro 4th generation which takes a USB-C charge cable, a different port than the lightning ports. Slightly bigger. This should accommodate the USB-C for the newest iPad Air (2020).

- Answer Not sure what you mean by 8s, as there were only 8 and 8 Plus, but both of those used Lightning connectors, not USB-C. You need the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm adapter instead.

- Answer Works for us using the older version wired Apple earphones with this adaptor and works using kids volume control headphones. Maybe make sure you’re using “model 11" iPad Pro and 12.9" iPad Pro (3rd generation)”. And of course, just making sure the volume on the headphones are turned up? Lol basic I know. Hope you get some help figuring out the problem if you haven’t already.

- Answer I have a Garmin “Oregon” GPS unit and it has A USB mini female port. I’m betting that your unit has either a usb mini or usb micro port. If so, this adapter will not work for you, as it’s a wired headphone/earbuds adapter for Apple devices with a USB-C female port and no 3.5mm earphone jack. Without seeing your GPS device, I can’t be sure.
