Q: QuestionDoes this laptop have 1 or 2 m.2 NVME SSD slots? I have conflicting information saying the 2060 model has 2 slots but the upgrade guide says 1.

Q: QuestionHello, I want to buy this laptop but i have some questions: first, can the storage of this laptop be expanded? It has 512 SSD, but is it possible to add a 1TB HDD to it or does it just have to be an SSD? And second, can the RAM be expanded up to 64 or 32?

• A:Answer Yes it has a 2.5" drive bay next to the battery compartment and another NVME slot also. As for the RAM, look through the threads, some people have said they were able to upgrade to 64GB (2x32GB) and it works but officially it says 32GB max.

Q: QuestionMy previous laptop was an Asus and is currently unusable because the charger Jack got loose and I don't intend on replacing a whole motherboard for it. I was curious wether the charging port is attached to the motherboard on this one as well.

• A:Answer The charging port does not appear to be soldered onto the motherboard, it is mounted to the laptop chassis with a couple of screws and connects via a cable. Please see the attached photo.

Q: QuestionIs the rtx 2060 the refreshed 115w version or the older version?

• A:Answer I believe this is the 90 watt version according to the specs; however, when using mine, the RTX 2060 typically reports 85 to 95 watts during rendering tasks; Fortnite, upper 80's on Epic with a 60FPS frame limit; 99 Watts using the Heaven benchmark on DX11; and have had peaks at around 110 watts doing various gaming and rendering tasks. I believe the thermals are the main issue preventing this GPU from running above 90 Watts for an extended period of time. It is a fairly thin laptop packing a significant amount of performance, so cooling can be an issue sometimes.

Q: QuestionEveryone posting says to upgrade RAM to 16GB or more and consider an additional SSD. Some manufacturers consider "opening the case" for such things to void the warranty. Any idea how ASUS or Geek Squad views such home upgrade efforts? Thank you!

Q: QuestionIs a WD_Black SN750 1TB NVMe - WDS100T3X0C compatible with this laptop? I would also like to get a recommendation for 3200mhz RAM that will actually run at that frequency with better timings than the RAM installed and is 32 or 64 GB the max?

• A:Answer Yes, all NVMe SSDs are compatible. I recommend Kingston HyperX 3200MHz RAM for this laptop, it has the fastest frequency and lowest timings currently available. 32GB is the max supported. That's what I'm using on mine and it is FAST.

• A:Answer If by full you mean not Max-Q, then yes, it has the full 2060. But it does NOT have a 144Hz display. The display is only 60Hz.

• A:Answer I'm unsure of the timing but it's 1.2v.module at 3200mhz. So the timing is probably CL22. 1.35V Modules won't work in this laptop and the bios is locked up tight.

• A:Answer The memory is low voltage sodimm, so 1.2v modules only, max speed is 3200mhz. Believe me when I say you won't be happy with the latency of the memory in this range but there's nothing that can be done about that.

• A:Answer *disclaimer*: I did not open my laptop to check SSD and such, so my work cannot be 100% true, you should still check for yourself to make sure everything is the same on my computer as it is to yours. From my experience most laptop runs the NVME M.2 2280 SSD(s) probably due to the small size and low heat. If you do some digging around you should be able to find people upgrading their laptops. I did see a youtube video and it was a 2280 ssd, so you should be fine with any of them. I personally like the SN850, but it is only so efficient on pcie gen4 motherboards so you should be fine as long as the M.2 Drive is 2280. I will leave a couple recommended drives but they are merely guidelines and more just suggestions. Best of luck
