QuestionSpeed seems to be slowHave owned my ASUS 2-in-1 now for a whole 5 days. Am not the most competent with computers and technology, but am trying to learn. It seems my laptop is more than a bit slow, especially when trying to use the WiFi at Barnes and Noble or the local library. Any suggestions on how I can speed it up?

- Answer Hi Not-a-techie.........the speed of this model is actually very quick, however I do not use Wi-Fi s most WI-FI in stores or any where the you can connect to is used by many other computers which slows down the MPS, the speed being sent to your computer. I use cable and hot-spots from my cable company which is just a tad slower but I can still play games, send emails, etc...... My advice is if you have cable at home ask if the cable company has what is called hot-spots, meaning you are signing into your cable company internet Hope this helps

- Answer There isn't a dedicated graphics card. I had this same question, and contacted Geek Squad to see if I could increase my Graphics RAM, and they said that it couldn't be done with the chip, and that there wasn't any to change it. However, I play a few games on here, and haven't noticed any problems with lag or glitches.

QuestionWhat is the average battery life?I know this tends to vary on what you are doing and operating but I was wondering if there was an estimate of the average battery life of this computer? I couldn't find those details any where hope you can give me an estimate thank you.

- Answer I've gotten 8-10 hours with average use, about 5 watching movies, less with games.

- Answer It's marginal for most newer games. The 1GB of video RAM limits your options. Most new games need the graphics turned way down to be playable. Minecraft is good at a medium setting.

QuestionIs 2.7 gigahertz the overclocked processer speedIn my PC Info it says that my processor speed is 2.2 and nowhere does it say 2.7. I think PC info usually shows the overclocked processor speed so I am confused. I've checked the model number and they match up.

- Answer go to control panel, power management, change it to high performance. This will make it run at the 2.7 ghz. It will also draw more power and drain the battery quicker. But it will definitely help when rendering video and doing intense gaming.

- Answer There is an electronic version of the manual on the hard drive. Look in the program listing under ASUS. Failing that go to the ASUS Download/Support site and down load the manual for the Q502LA

- Answer Yes, very possible. I recently bought an LG optical blu ray drive from bestbuy and it works though one of the usb 3.0 ports on this laptop.

- Answer It's an Intel integrated card, I forgot the model number but it's 1GB. It's not much for gaming unless you turn down the graphics.

- Answer Yes. Remove screws around perimeter of bottom, pop it off, HD is easily accessible and removable. I replaced it with an SSD with no problems. Be aware, though, that Windows 8.1's full system image backup can not be restored to a smaller drive (changing partition size doesn't help). You'll have to use 3rd party backup software if you want to make an exact restore of your current system to a smaller SSD. If you want to do a new install of Windows, this isn't an issue.
