As I understand it, on systems with mux switches, you can force the computer to use onboard or discreet output, with the requisite hit to the battery. This is the main use case, managing battery usage. While you arent going to game on the battery, you may do other tasks on the battery alone. If you sinply engage the Windows power saver mode as normal through the task bar, it will basically act like a mux in terms of power utilization. You’ll go from 2hr estimated battery life to 10 hrs on a full charge. Still waiting on my replacement unit (long story), but in my time with the first one of these i ordered this battery assessment is accurate.
