• A:Answer I cleaned the collection compartment. Rinsed the water compartment that holds your water and soap. To make sure all the soap was out. Then the plastic cover over the brushes comes off. And can clean that and get all the clumps of hair and other debris out and clean it. Took me probably 5 minutes to clean. Was very happy with it.

• A:Answer No. Maybe steaming to loosen up stuck on spots but can use the brush on the steamer might not work as great as it does on carpet. And be very careful using steam on tile and grouted flooring it can loosen up the grout

• A:Answer I typically use Bissell cleaner. You add the cleaner to the water so as long as it's a pretty similar cleaner I don't see why you couldn't.

If you are looking for something like that, I also bought at the same time as this machine the Bissell Crosswave Hydrosteam Wet/Dry Vac - that worked excellent on hard floors and low-pile area rugs. I used this one here for my more expensive, higher pile carpets.

• A:Answer I tried it on my vinyl kitchen floor and it worked well. But since it is a hard floor I didn't need the same volume of solution as the rug, so if you overdo it you'll be sponge mopping the excess up. It cannot be used on wood floors, or anything that is not a single floor covering like my kitchen vinyl. The steam and water will get in and underneath and things will buckle.
