The unit is designed to brew espresso properly at 3 different temperatures. All temperatures are designed to brew the espresso thoroughly, without burning the actual coffee. It is a common desire, particularly in the US, for coffee to be made extremely hot, as most common places to get coffee in the US do not understand the overly heating the water can actually burn the bean while brewing, resulting in a burnt, improper taste. That is not what this machine is designed for. It is designed to maximize the flavor of the coffee. The same can be said for the milk frother. Don't burn your milk. If you want your coffee piping hot or burnt, buy a cheaper machine or put your coffee in the microwave once it's brewed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Of the three temperature settings the hottest setting is still not hot enough to the point to where a few of my guests, in the past, have commented that they would like it hotter. Other that that, it is an AMAZING machine and the grinder is superb. It can grind coffee into a fine powder if you like.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Absolutely not. If there is one thing this machine fails miserably at, it’s making appropriate temperature for espresso. Top measures about 160F, which is about 30-40F below what is needed to extract coffee goodness out of the grinds. I’ve had the machine for 3 months are regret it everyday. I hate it bc it fails to do the one thing is was designed to do— make appropriate espresso.
