A:AnswerCan it be used with a cellphone? Yes.
It uses a private Wi-Fi connection to transfer the documents. For iOS, you have to use an app to access the SD card in the scanner.
So you scan a doc, it's stored on the SD card. Then to get it on your phone, you'll need to connect to the scanner's Wi-Fi, and you then use an App to access the SD card and transfer the document(s).
You can also get the docs through the web browser, but it's not as good as using the MIWAND app.

A:AnswerI know this is an old post, but just to get the correct info out there: the DS mobile 920DW works just fine with the MacBook Pro. I use it daily. Make sure your scanner is set to PC (hold down the OK button until the display shows "PC"). Download the DSMobieCapture app for MacBook. Don't use the disk that came with it, those drivers are outdated. The only thing that doesn't work on MacBook Pro is the Button Manager, which wasn't that important anyway. I am using a 2016 MBP running Big Sur (11.3.1).
A:AnswerIt has capability to OCR, but it is contained within the software included with the device. The name of the software is "PaperPort" and I would recommend purchasing the latest version separately or purchasing a software of your choice to go with the scanner. Brother no longer supports the included software, so you are getting a out-of-date version.
A:AnswerIT will. It sends the scanned image over wifi. You just search for the scanner like you would a Wi-Fi network, When you find it and log onto it you can search for the documents that are stored on the supplied memory card.
