This lens will function with the R8, but only in APS-C crop mode with all that entails. For the R8, I personally, advise sticking with RF lenses for your full-frame sensor, not RF-S lenses like this one. But only you can determine your needs.

Q: Question9.2.25- Hey. On a Canon EOS series, will it allow the video to operate? I tried a Nikon lense with adapter on my EOS. It would zoom manually but it would not go into video record mode. Will not the auto focus and video record work on a Canon EOS? Thanks !

• A:Answer No, the frame is different, RF-S55-210 mm is a lens for mirrorless camera, and the Rebel T100 is a mirror camera, it uses frames EF, you should look for the EF-S55-250 mm lens other way you will need an adapter EF-EOS R to fit the lens and it more expensive than the EF lens.

You can also go to Canon's site to double check because sometimes Best Buy has errors in their presented data. For example, Best Buy currently has this incorrectly categorized as a DSLR lens rather than a mirrorless camera lens.
