QuestionHardwired, when my car wakes up, the camera comes on, then when I start my vehicle, it goes off and on again. THEN, it seems as tho when it’s been in the sun, it comes on when I start the car but then turns off until manually powered on..anyone else?

- Answer Had mine hardwired by Bestbuy to my Cadilac XT5 It does that also powers on when I start my car, stays on when I turn off my car and goes off when I open the door. When I have time I will trace where they hardwired it to see if there is power on all the time. Not sure if has a sleep mode of some sort and records when it feels a movement of the car.

- Answer Front camera is mounted on windshield. No problem there. But rear camera is mounted on inside of rear window. May be a problem for a convertible.

QuestionDoes this have a onboard capacitor or lithium style battery? Im not asking if it can record while the car is off but capacitor type batteries work better in heat.

- Answer No it does not, it needs to be hardwired into the car, the older dash cams were much better in that aspect with internal batteries and much better video quality

- Answer Only if you purchase a separate battery pack or power supply. You do not want to run off the car battery when the engine is off because of potential of depleting car battery.
