- Answer I'd buy him a cheaper model like the Ender 3 series or similar. Unless he has unlimited funds for tinkering. That all depends on how much aptitude he has for this type of thing, Only you and/him can answer that. But, Creality makes printers for tinkering. If he doesn't mind doing that & knowing that Creality has a bad track record thus far with spotty CS, poor QA at the factory & they break more than other comparable competition then that's the risk worth taking, I don't care what Creality says...they are not marketing this printer for an unbox & go type of user. And I own Crealities. If I had the money I'd go with one the Bambu Labs offerings since I just want to unbox & print. I'm not a tinkerer.

- Answer No, but it's easy to install and the wiring is already there for it. You can find the camera online for like 20 bucks.

- Answer It has a usb port to upload print files to the printer.. there is software on the usb drive that is in the box (creality print) but no actual cad software

QuestionI have never used a 3D printer. That being said is this beyond an entry level user? I see all of the types of filament it uses but I have no idea which type to purchase with it. Is there a type that is "general use" or for practice ?

- Answer Pla is a great start. Once u figure out what type of strength, weather resistant, UV resistant, heat resistant etc will determine which filament you will need to use depending on what the print is used for. The k1 will be beginner friendly and have everything ready for you.
