- Answer You do not want to purchase as they so many issues and there is no customer service. You can only message them on their web site and they will never reply and the cam will be useless.

- Answer No extra accessories needed. You can setup Motion or sounds detection from the app or by logging into the camera directly. If you have the app it will send you a push notification but I would recommend setting up email alerts to save on phone data usage. Sends several snapshots to your email once setup in about the same time it takes the app to notify you which is typically in seconds of the event.

Questionhow many gigabytes one camera will use for 24h continuous recording?in general, I have 250GB internet service per month. could anyone tell me the communication between camera and hard drive will use internet service? how many gigabytes one camera will use for continuous recording? my concern is if the camera use too many internet data, my internet service company will charge me for extra usage. thanks.

- Answer This camera software does not support windows 10 so unless you have an older version of windows, it won't setup online.

QuestionCan I run this from my dad's place to mineMy father lives in the same mobile park as I do. It allows him to stay in his own home still. However he is in need of some monitoring that is unknown to him. He is very adamant that he has no issues and is angered when we try to get safety issues in place. Thus the reason for a small camera to monitor his behavior so that we know when he is no longer able to function on his own. My hopes are to be able to keep him in his own place and independent while seeing any issues that warrant attention. We have the same WiFi n I can monitor his activity thru our xboxs which allows me to see that he is active vs checking in on him every day to make sure he is well. This was a great way to keep track but need video to monitor more than awake or not so that we need to be more aware without him being upset that we believe he can't take care of himself. It would b win win for all. So he lives 3 to 4 hundred feet away n I need confirmation that I can set up n then disconnect then monitor via my tablet in my home with rca android tablet. Hoping yes. Ty for it time.

- Answer You could but you would have to run an ethernet cable from the camera all the way to your computer or in ethernet equipped monitor.

- Answer Yes. On off times are completely programmable. They can also be said to turn on for motion or turn on for sound.

- Answer I haven't noticed anything major accessing the cameras via iPhone on the road. My plan is for 3Gb/month and Im always under that considerably. I'm sure you could probably find this out better than my answer, so good luck!

- Answer Basically, we can update the firmware of the camera as longs as it is connected wired to the router. Since you got a red light on the camera, all we need to do is to reset the camera to its factory default and re install the camera. If the reconfiguration won't work then the camera might need to be replaced or you can call the Dlink tech support to let them set the camera as defective so that you can check the illegibility for the replacement.

QuestionBuzzing over the microphone and camera freezing.When I listen in on the camera over the android phone app there is a constant buzzing sound that comes over. The camera also freezes where you cant move it at all with the two finger swipe options. I cant access the camera from home or from the mydlink+ app. Anyone else have this issue.

- Answer i only have buzzing from my equipment if i am too close to the camera. if i tap on the sound icon, its muted. i have not had any freezing issues, maybe a litte delay but thats all.

- Answer I don't know why it would not work. I use my 5020L's remotely via the internet. At the camera end, you do not need a computer. You only need a router (wired ethernet or wi-fi) and an internet connection. At the viewing end, you need an internet connection and some PC/Mac software (e.g., iSpy) or Android or iPad app (e.g., IP Camera Viewer for PC) Or you can use the MyDlink Services, which are free for the basics (I think...I don't use them...I use the software listed above). Using the software or DLink services, you can pan, tilt, operate the LED's, and a lot more. It's quite amazing....it works! If you are not tech-savvy, you may wish to get the assistance of somebody who is. Depending on which route you take, you may need some detailed knowledge about how to set up static IP addresses, port-forwarding, etc. If you go the DLink services route and use the setup wizard, however, I think it's a pretty painless setup even for novices.
