QuestionI will only have 5.1 surround sound but I want to connect 6 additional speakers for audio playback throughout my house in different rooms. Can any of the other surround channels be used for audio output or do they have to be for surround sound use?

- Answer This receiver is only recommended for 2 zones, main 5.1 and a second zone for 2 additional speakers. I recommend going with an airplay 2 compatible 5.1 receiver for your main surround sound area, and going with 3 Sonos amps to connect to your 6 additional speakers (2 speakers connects to each Sonos Amp) it’s best doing it this way especially if you have the latest apple devices that have airplay 2 capabilities, you’d be able to connect or disconnect sound to each zone wirelessly via your phone/tablet this way.

- Answer No, but the X2700H does have a stereo Zone 2 pre-out. For a Main Zone Front L/R pre-out, that would start in our X3700H model.

- Answer Yes. There are 2 sub inputs. That's why it's labelled 7.2, and not 7.1.

QuestionCan this be configured for 5.2.4 Dolby Atmos?

- Answer The X2700H is only a 7 channel amp, so the most you can do is either 7.2 or 5.2.2. The X3700H gives you the ability to do 5.2.4 as that model has 9 amp channels to use.

- Answer One of the five HDMI inputs ("GAME") is rated HDMI 2.1. Make sure to get the right cable. The HDMI.org certifying body has specified an HDMI 2.1 cable will be labeled "Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable". The packaging will have a 3D hologram which can be scanned using an iOS app from the HDMI.org. The cable which comes with the PS5 has been tested to 8K 40Gbps 4K/120Hz requires 32Gbps).

- Answer I would suggest reading up on Apple AirPlay 2. This is exactly what you want to do -- through Wifi. Denon was one of the first companies to include Airplay 2 in their products. Airplay 2 devices on your home wifi network will "just appear" as an option to play audio on. The breakthrough with Airplay 2 is you can select more than one player device - all will be in perfect sync. You could select both your Denon receiver in the living room and an Apple HomePod in the kitchen - both 100% in sync. If you see Denon HEOS on their website that is a bit confusing -- it's just Denon's product that supports AirPlay 2.

QuestionHow do you setup 5.2.2? Within the speakers section in settings under manual it doesn’t let you select any speaker configurations. When you use the Audyssey setup it doesn’t even show or test the second subwoofer.

I attached a link that will help guide you. -Setup>Manual setup>Amp Assign>Select the location of your Atmos speakers. Movie soundtracks provide .1 bass output; the receiver will balance the room as it sends test tones to both connected subwoofers.

- Answer I’m no tech. Geek squad set up my tv and denon to my devices. I’m only in main zone I believe. I can play music from iPhone in Bluetooth mode once paired with denon. I can also play HEOS music when you instal app on phone. I can also ask my Alexa to play music from my phone as I’ve paired denon to my Amazon echo in Alexa app

- Answer No, the supplied IR remote is designed to control the AVR only. You will need a 3rd party solution to control all devices with one remote.
