QuestionOf all the Dyson vacs, this looks to be the least expensive. Can anyone tell me what you're NOT getting by buying this model vs. the more expensive models? We had a Dyson Animal for 15 years that worked great! TIA

- Answer What Dyson you elect to buy is really a personal choice as well as a wallet choice. We bought this one as it was a recent Deal of the Day on Best Buy and my wife was looking for a smaller unit to use. as her wrists and hands can't handle pushing a larger unit around. This one is primarily being used for hardwood and area rug type carpets and some carpet without a lot of knap. It has a basic length hose and two smaller attachments but so far we haven't used those. But we are VERY IMPRESSED with it's suction capacity as we have a cat and it is removing cat hair we never knew we had in the area rugs! If you read this review on Friday 6 August Best Buy has the next unit higher up the Dyson model scale as a Deal of the Day today. It has a longer hose if that if important for your use and has a larger vacuum suction capacity.

- Answer Hi Bob, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Ball Multi Floor Origin is designed to power off, when you press the power button. Having said that, there is a built-in thermal cutoff protection. If your machine should overheat, which generally occurs due to a blockage or clog, it will cut power to the motor to prevent machine damage. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

- Answer Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The spinning brush bar on the Ball Multi Floor Origin can be disabled, so while vacuuming on hard floors or hardwood, you can turn that off if there are any concerns on using a brush on those surfaces. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

QuestionDoes this vacuum stay upright easily when stored? I have a yellow Dyson Ball (& previously a non-Ball Dyson) a few years old, and it is always falling out of the locked upright position which everyone in my family who uses it finds super annoying.

- Answer There have been no problems of failing to stay upright either on our new Dyson or on the one it replaces. Our old one just became harder to push and was less effective in cleaning, so the daily deal for the new one made sense. Since we bought it I’ve seen the same price on a later daily deal email.
