• A:Answer For a single PC setup, 4K X is not ideal because it does not handle encoding on its own. Your PC will still do the encoding process. A dual-PC setup is recommended, as it offloads the encoding to a second computer, preventing it from affecting your gaming performance. -James

Q: QuestionMy PC does not have a USB C input, can I use a USB C to standard USB wire to connect the Elgato to my PC?

• A:Answer Hi Tom, within limits. USB A-Type per default allows up to 5 Gbps, our 4K X supports up to 10 with USB C-Type. You can still use our capture card, (please make sure your A-Type is at least 3.0!) but this will result in a compression to mjpeg with higher resolutions/framerates.

Q: QuestionWill this still work for vhs or other older analog video transfer to PC, or is the "s" model a better fit for that? I'd rather get the x version for potential future use, but is it still going to work with those older formats? I'm not a gamer.

• A:Answer Hi SilverFox, both are HDMI-Input Capture Cards which means you would need a converter since most VHS-Recorder don't have an HDMI-Output. This is possible. Both support common video formats and those converters often upscale and transform 4:3 to 16:9. Older tapes usually use a lower resolution like 480p/i. Our Game Capture Neo would be a good fit for your use case. Or our Elgato Video Capture, in that case you would not need a converter. The 4K X is the latest state of the art device and intended to use with consoles which support higher resolutions and framerates. The 4K S / Game Capture Neo are sufficient for your use case and at the same time capable of other uses. If you don't need a passthrough display the Cam Link 4K might be a good fit, too. Q: QuestionI am very interested in this card but before i make a decision I need to ask does this work with Samsung tablets or just iPad? so for example, I hook up a pc/ps5 to my monitor with this card then can I use a android tablet to show up a picture?

• A:Answer 4K X works with Windows, macOS, and iPad (via USB-C) using the Elgato Capture app, available on the App Store. You can view or record the signal directly on the iPad; no computer is needed. At this time, Android tablets are not supported, and there’s no Elgato Capture app available on the Play Store. -James
