QuestionDoes the power button light slowly pulsate when the printer is in sleep mode on the ET-5850? I just bought the ET-4950 and the button light pulsates on this printer. No option to disable it except powering the printer off. Does ET-5850 do the same?

The EcoTank ET-5850 is primarily designed for home and light-office document printing, but if you use Epson photo or photo matte paper and set it to high quality, the ET-5850 prints good photos. QuestionBought 1/30/2025. Nothing but trouble from beginning. CONSTANTLY have to reset all data since it disconnects from my wifi router. Now it won't connect and my MAC can't find it. What a ripoff this printer has been.

QuestionWill it do automatic double-sided printing on 5.5 X 8.5 (statement size) paper? I don't care for manual double-sided printing. Thank you.

- Answer Hello. Unfortunately, the ET-5850 does not support auto 2-sided (duplex) printing for that paper size. Duplex printing is only compatible with the following paper sizes: Letter (8.5 × 11 inches / 216 × 279 mm), A4 (8.3 × 11.7 inches / 210 × 297 mm), Executive (7.25 × 10.5 inches / 184 × 267 mm), A5 (5.8 × 8.2 inches / 148 × 210 mm), B5 (7.2 × 10.1 inches / 182 × 257 mm), Mexico-Oficio (8.5 × 13.4 inches / 216 × 340 mm), and Oficio 9 (8.46 × 12.4 inches / 215 × 315 mm). - Answer I also have the 502 ink bottles per a geek squad person. They told me that it's the one to use. So, WHY in the heck doesn't the printer have the colors in EVERY tank right now? I tried filling each tank and it looks like that every color is full. WHY isn't it printing all the colors correctly???

- Answer Hello. The thickest paper we have tested on the ET-5850 is Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Glossy, which weighs 79 lb (approx 297 gsm). We have also tested Epson Ultra Premium Presentation Paper Matte, which is similar to cardstock and works with the machine. However, that paper weighs around 44 lb (approx 165 gsm). You can always try cardstock that falls in that range at your discretion, but please note that your results can vary when using 3rd party paper, as these recommendations are for Epson paper only.
