QuestionOnce I've scanned a document I need it to open in a PDF format before it saves it. I'd like to be able to name the file without having to go find it and renaming it. Right now it goes to my documents folder name PFD. Thank you for you help

- Answer Quality was good at first then started streaking. Then quit after 3 days. Wouldn't recommend it.

- Answer This cannot scan passports because it needs to pass through it. A scanner with a bed would be more suitable.

- Answer There is no guarantee that I am aware of, but if you put in paper without clips or staples attached, it should not jam.

QuestionLike most modern laptops, mine doesn't have a CD reader. Is the software that is on the CD provided with the product also available via online download?

- Answer Yes, I was able to download the installation software from the Epson website. The instructions booklet has the steps listed for that too. Or, just follow the steps when you download the software from the website. Easy!

- Answer You need to review your system requirements. You can go to the Epson website for those requirements for the software. Otherwise, as long as you have a USB plug or Bluetooth in your laptop, it'll plug in.

- Answer This scanner will not work for 11x17. The widest it can scan is about 9 inches - so the small width of a standard sheet of paper.

- Answer AA battery versus built-in rechargeable is a plus! One can buy rechargeable AA batteries and keep a fresh set or two handy. Also, these are replaceable. The built-in rechargeable battery is not. Unless the instruction manual says specifically not to use them, that is my plan.

- Answer Short answer is "no." You can't plug a USB flash drive into the scanner. You could plug a USB drive into a computer and tell your scanner software to automatically save the new scans there. You can scan directly to an iPad or iPhone, though.

- Answer You need to flip and scan a second time. This is a straight feed and only scans one side at a time.
