A:AnswerYes, you only need one OTA antenna. No matter how many TV's you have as long as the TV's are connected with an Amazon Fire TV/Stick you'll be able to watch OTA channels through the Recast. The 2 tuner Recast allows you to watch 2 TV's simultaneously, the 4 turner allows you to watch 4 TV's simultaneously.
A:AnswerIt works pretty much like dvr. Haven't tried slow motion but can rewi d and fast forward. Pretty easy to set up and use on my LG tv and firestick.
A:AnswerConnect your HDMI cable from the 'source' to a HDMI-to-RCA converter. Connect the RCA cables to the DVR,... you should be able to record your shows. Pick up an old-school HDD DVR on Ebay (Panasonic, Philips/Magnavox, etc.)
A:AnswerYou can record the OTA (over the air) channels on this device. When you're watching an OTA channel, you can press the 'Options' button on the Fire Stick remote (the button with the three horizontal lines), and select "Record" from the popup menu. Also, once the Recast is installed, you'll find that Amazon Fire TV Stick sets up a 'ribbon' on its home screen dedicated to the OTA channels labeled "On Now". Scroll down to the ribbon labeled "On Now" and you'll see a row of most watched OTA channels. If you want to see the OTA TV Guide, stay on the "On Now" row, press the navigation button (round circle on the remote) to the left and select "Guide"; the TV guide appears.
A:AnswerHi! The Fire TV Recast will record local OTA content using an antenna. It does not support Drip Rock at this time. Hope this helps, enjoy your day!
A:AnswerHi larry! The Fire TV Recast can record any over-the-air live TV program that is available to you via a digital HD antenna connected to your Fire TV Recast. You cannot use Fire TV Recast to record live TV programs from any other source, such as cable or satellite boxes or streaming apps. I hope this helped answer your question, have a great day!
A:AnswerThe range depends entirely on your antenna, the terrain around you, the weather, and the distance to broadcast towers. The Recast just receives the signal the antenna provides. In my case, it does a very good job with the signal it gets, but ultimately the range has nothing to do with the Recast.
With a good antenna, and if you have line-of-sight to the tower (no trees or buildings or hills in the way), you can easily get ranges well over 50 miles. Where I live, 25 miles outside Boston, in a hilly area with very tall trees, I'm able to pick up all Boston stations with an antenna that I've got mounted about 30' up, but that's not the case in heavy rains or blizzards.
A:AnswerNo, the cable signal is very different than the OTA broadast signals. The Cox coax is basically an internet connection, like Ethernet, in a coax form.
There are digital tuners in the Recast, but they're for OTA signals. It's like a radio - it'll do great pulling in FM, but you're not going to listen to a podcast on it.
