A:AnswerThis model icemaker does not recirculate the water from melting ice. It is necessary to drain the accumulated water via the drainage hoses on the rear of the icemaker.
A:AnswerI'm not sure.... Do you have apprx 6" on each side and the back for proper ventilation? If not, this could cause a difference. That's all I've got.
A:AnswerThe unit extrudes a ribbon of ice which is subsequently cut into nuggets by a rotating cutter mechanism. At that point the ice nuggets start to slide down the chute into the ice storage area using gravity.
If the ambient temperature is warm, the ice may melt slightly as it moves down the chute into the ice storage area.
A:AnswerThere is no water filter. It is recommended that the ice maker be cleaned regularly. Here are some generic instructions on how to clean a free standing icemaker:
Signs Your Ice Maker Requires Cleaning:
• Ice has a musty or odd smell &/or taste
• Visible Mold
• Visible Mineral Deposits
• Ice Maker has an odd smell
Items You Need to Clean Your Ice Maker:
• Warm/Tepid Water
• Vinegar or Lemon Juice
• Clean dry clothes or sponges
• Rubber Gloves
• Mild Dish Soap. (e.g. Palmolive or Dawn dishwashing liquid NOTE: DO NOT use detergent meant for an automatic dishwasher)
• 2 plastic pails or large bowls
The Cleaning Process:
1. Turn off and unplug the icemaker from the electrical outlet.
2. Drain the water from the Ice Maker into your Kitchen Sink drain.
3. Remove the Ice Storage Bin (The bin where ice produced is stored)
4. Remove the Ice Tray (The tray that catches the ice as it is produced)
5. Prepare a 10% Vinegar or Lemon Juice solution (1 part Vinegar or Lemon Juice to 10 parts tepid Water) in one plastic pail or bowl.
6. Prepare a solution of mild dishwashing soap and warm water in one plastic pail or bowl.
7. Clean the exterior and interior of the machine using a cloth or sponge soaked in the solution of mild dishwashing soap and warm water. (Allow the solution to remain for a few minutes).
8. Rinse with plain warm water (draining the water into your kitchen sink) and wait until the parts completely dry. You can dry the unit using a clean dry cloth if you wish.
9. Clean the interior parts with the solution of vinegar and warm/tepid water or lemon juice and warm/tepid water– NOTE: Be Careful when cleaning the evaporator fingers (where the ice cubes form) to prevent damage/scratches. Let the solution sit for a few moments. The Vinegar/Lemon Juice and water solution will act on rust, mineral deposits and mold.
10. Rinse with Clear Water.
11. Clean and dry the Ice Basket and Ice Tray and reinstall in the Ice Maker.
12. Reinstall the drain plug.
13. Plug in the icemaker, fill with the remaining vinegar and water/lemon juice and water solution and set the unit to make ice.
14. Make several batches of ice and discard them.
15. Drain the remaining vinegar and water/lemon juice and water solution into the kitchen sink.
16. Fill the unit with clear potable water, make several batches of ice, and discard them. (This will flush any vinegar and water/lemon juice and water residue from the system).
