Q: QuestionOur vehicle does not have a Cigarette lighter. Will this charge sufficiently with a USB port?

• A:Answer No, the RV 1090 will need to be powered by the magnetic mount and included vehicle power cable connected to a cigarette lighter type 12V power port. This model will not operate correctly when connected to a vehicle’s USB port.

• A:Answer Garmin has a "Compare" option on their website. Best Buy doesn't allow people to share company websites so google "Garmin compare GPS" and it should take you to the page.

• A:Answer Yes, with the purchase and installation of City Navigator® Europe maps, the Garmin RV 1090 will provide turn by turn navigation for a passenger vehicle. Custom RV routing based on the size and weight of an RV would not be available in Europe using this device. If you are looking for RV routing in Europe, you will need one of the Garmin CamperVan European models.

• A:Answer The RV 1090 is able to read .apk files, which are files that contain Android-based applications for use on Android-based mobile operating systems. Loading a third-party app to an Android device using one of these files is commonly known as "sideloading". Although your device is capable of sideloading .apk files, Garmin does not offer support on the location, installation, or troubleshooting of these files and applications. If you decide to sideload an .apk file, it may or may not work correctly on the device. Garmin does not offer any suggestions on where to find these files and suggests that you only obtain these from trusted sources. If the device is not working properly after an .apk file has been sideloaded to it, a factory data reset of the device can be completed to remove the files. Performing a factory data reset will reset the device to factory default settings and delete any saved waypoints, downloaded apps, music, photos, videos, and other data. A factory data reset will also remove eLog driving log data and profile information for the compatible devices.

Q: QuestionNeed to be continuously connected to WiFi/Bluetooth in order to guide turn-by-turn, with up-to-date weather/gas info, or does it only need signal to download and save updates, route plans, etc. such as each time you stop for the night? Middle of Nowhere?

• A:Answer The RV 1090 will connect to NTSC and PAL format wired backup cameras when using the optional Magnetic Mount with Video-in Port, part number 010-12982-02. As long as the model you mentioned is in the NTSC or PAL format, it should work with the RV 1090.

• A:Answer Yes it does. You can download the Garmin Drive app which will connect it to your phone and can provide live traffic, weather, "smart notifications" which can display most notifications from your phone (texts, other messaging apps, calendar events, alarms, and a few more. You can't reply to messages through it, however), hands-free phone calls, and I more detailed info about places if it's available. I have it automatically connect to my phone as soon as it turns on and it's very reliable. It operates on an older version of the Android OS, but it lacks the framework to download anything but Garmin apps.

• A:Answer Not sure if this would be the best unit for pizza deliveries. It has a lot of features you'll pay for but probably won't ever use. Being said, I've had impressive results with voice commands and speaking addresses. It isn't perfect and works best if there isn't a lot of ambient noise. Due to the screen size, typing addresses in is very easy if all else fails.
