  • QuestionI purchased this washer and from day one the wash constantly goes unbalanced. I can not do a load of wash without the machine dancing across the floor and making loud banging noises. any ideas what I should do?

    Asked by shadow83.

    • Answer Hi shadow83- Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE. We are happy to provide assistance. You must remove the shipping material just before sliding the washer into place. There will be either a shipping rod, Styrofoam shipping material, or cardboard base and cardboard cone. Consult your Installation Instructions for removal of the shipping material. It should not be removed prior to sliding into place, since using the washer on a cart or dolly without it can cause the washer to be noisy and vibrate. Make sure the washer is level. The washer needs to be level and sitting on a good, solid floor. The more the legs are extended, the shakier the washer will be during operation. • QuestionWhen starting a load the water drains simultaneously so the tub doesn't fill. Is this a sensor issue?

    Asked by T.

    • Answer Hi T - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your washer. If the washer continues to fill but never starts to agitate, make sure the drain hose is raised to 30" high. Any less will cause water to siphon back out of tub as it is filling. Asked by Anna.

    • Answer Hi Anna - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your washer. We are sorry to hear it is not operating. It sounds like the water may be turned off to the washer. Turn both hot and cold faucets fully on. See page 13 of the Owner's Manual: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90576-3.pdf - Any time the washer is being started or restarts after the washer lid has been opened and closed, the washer will turn on the cold water valve for two short periods followed by a 10 second pause before continuing. If the lid is opened during this period, the washer will pause. You will have to push the Start button again to restart the cycle. See page 4 of the Owner's Manual- START-UP SEQUENCE: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90576-3.pdf - If your washer senses a power spike, unbalanced load, or disruption in power it will send a fault code to your motor and may require the motor to be reset. • Questionwasher always shows out of balance on spin cycle even with no clothes in washer also wont spin high speed

      Answered by MoeD

  • QuestionMy washer is about 6 months old. It appears that the entire tub inside is hanging low. It is separated from the top inside. Can this be lifted back up and clipped back in? Or is something internally brocken?

    Asked by Exportconnections.

    • Answer Hi Exportconnections- All GE Appliances washer tubs move freely within our exclusive auto balance suspension system. It is a rod and spring floating suspension, designed to withstand extensive out of balance situations without the need for an "out of balance" switch. During an out of balance load, the basket is allowed to "float" forward and backward, side to side, and up and down, yet it never touches the floor nor is it even connected to the floor. As a result, the clothes basket can move freely, and this is normal. When you move the inner tub, you can hear a "sloshing" sound. This is the balance ring. If it is not operating as designed, a qualified service technician is required for an accurate diagnosis. • QuestionMy washer has started skipping the spincycle between wash and rinse. Now I'm wondering if it ever did spin between wash and rinse. Is it missing a step? It has stopped spinning at the end of cycle also occasionally

    Asked by Sandy.

    • Answer Hi Sandy- Thanks for reaching out to us! At the end of the wash cycle, the washer pumps out all of the water. The washer retains only the water in the clothes, it does not spin, but fills again with 11 gallons of water. It will agitate for 10 seconds and then soak for 2.5-3 minutes. Last, it will pump out and do final spin. • QuestionJust bought washer says cold rinses only.but only have hot water hooked up.is this why it stops and doest fill up?

    Asked by Egr.

    • Answer If you are saying you only have the hot water hose hooked up, you should hook up the cold water hose as well. I like a super hot wash as well. I put the temp selector on hot. I push start to fill the tub. I immediately turn the cold water faucet off and let the tub fill with hot water. I then turn the cold water faucet back on. It uses cold water for the rinse cycle.

  • QuestionI just purchased this model. When the washer starts washing it sounds loud and seems to agitate slow back and forth. Is this normal for this model?

    Asked by Summer.

    • Answer Mine does that, too. Experiment with your load sizes compared to your load setting. It’s worse when that’s off ..for instance, I’ve found it’s not good for my load to exceed the middle of the tub. Hope this helps.
