• A:Answer Any dehumidifier will freeze up when the temperatures are below freezing, as the water will freeze in the lines. As long as you can keep the basement temperatures above freezing, you should still be able to use this unit. We find that putting our dehumidifier on cement blocks to boost it up away from the floor does the trick, as the air is a bit warmer up there.

• A:Answer Maybe. I placed mine in the basement, placed it on "auto", and the pump drains into a sink. Before I did that, my AC was running constantly and the temperature inside would get no lower than 78°. Once we used the dehumidifier, it drops to a cool 72°. I think......as the air circulates around the house, it pulls the moisture from that air and recirculates it. So in a nutshell, I believe as long as you have good airflow the walls don't matter.

Q: QuestionI want a unit that has a NS or nonstop feature that will allow the unit to keep trying to pull water out of the air even when the air is painfully dry. I want it to keep going even when humidity is 20%. Can you recommend dehumidifier with this feature?

• A:Answer If you try to set the humidity level below 35, it lights up non-stop and the % value disappears from the display. I have mine set at 40 and it cycles on/off to maintain that value.
