• A:Answer Thank you for checking with us. When you first turn the unit on, it may collect more water than normal, especially in humid rooms. If you keep windows and doors closed, over time, the unit will collect less and less water. Under normal operation, the drain bucket should not need to be emptied at all as the water collected is used to cool the internal components of the AC. In dehumidify mode you would need to empty it more often or connect a drain hose. In heat or cool mode, water is still collected, just not as rapidly. Q: QuestionCan the exhaust be vented to the attic in the garage. Exhaust would go straight up to attic.
