  • QuestionWhat kind of ice cubes are produced? Moon shaped or cubed? I have a GE now and I am not happy with how the ice maker works. I always used crushed but half of the cubes come out whole. How does this ice maker stand up?

    Asked by AmyG.

    • Answer Hi AmyG - Thanks for considering GE Profile Model PVD28BYNFS. We certainly appreciate your loyalty. Refrigerator icemakers produce crescent shaped cubes approximately 2 1/2" long x 3/4" high x 3/4" thick. We are sorry to hear you are not happy with your current model. When changing from CUBED to CRUSHED ICE, expect a slight delay before new operation begins. If the dispenser will not produce crushed ice (you mentioned half come out whole),this will require service to correct. You should not expect this issue with the new model. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. We are always eager to help and want to ensure the dispenser is operating as designed. Sue

  • Questionhow do i change the water filter

    Asked by EaG.

    • Answer Thanks for checking with us. The water filter cartridge is located in the left-hand refrigerator door behind the rectangular access panel. We recommend replacing it when the control panel illuminates that it needs to be replaced soon. To remove the old filter, gently grasp the filter and slowly turn it to the left, about 1/4 turn. The filter should release, and a small amount of water may drip down. To install the new filter, line up the ports on the filter with the ports on the filter cartridge holder and gently insert the filter. Slowly turn the filter to the right until it stops. Be careful not to over tighten. There are instructions on page 13 in your manual. Thank you! Joyce@GEAppliances
