A:AnswerIt will not work with a Roku box or stick as the company does not make an app for Roku. It WILL work with a Roku TV thru the Roku Media player but it is not nearly as good as an experience as the HDHome Run apps on AppleTV, Android TV, and Amazon Fire TV
A:AnswerI would get hdhomerun to access local channels. We have the 4tuner because of various tv in various rooms. You will need a quality tv antenna. The best unit to get for your android tv , especially if your want to record and watch sports without choppy movement is to get Nvidia Sheild. If you don't care about recording. I use a lower cost Mibox3 in the living room. If you are really plugged into Amazon, you may want to consider an Amazon product. With the Nvidia I added an external hard drive to upload files or record. Also make sure your router and internet speed rock.
The HDhomerun takes care of access to the local channels, but we have signed up with PlayStation Vue for cable shows we like to watch. I would try the free trials, which is what I did for these services-PlayStation Vue, YouTube TV, Sling, etc. I choose PlayStation Vue because it has all the stations my family liked to watch and a lot of sports.
I am enjoying being a cord cutter. Make sure you consider that you have now made your tv act and look like your smart phone. You are now using apps to provide your viewing and also game playing, if your into that. I'm a girly nerd, so all this appeals to me. But others may not be into setting this up.
Hope this helps.
A:AnswerPersonally, I am using a GE ultra stealth pro outdoor antenna with this, but it will work with any antenna.
It helps to have an antenna with a power amplifier, basically a device that you plug in and connects to the coax before this that increases the power of the antenna. With the amplifier you have the possibility of receiving more channels and the channels being clearer.
A:AnswerIn this context the tuner is the device used to process the OTA (over the air) signal from your local broadcast stations. Each device that you would like to use to watch TV must connect to a tuner. Wits this device you can access 4 seperate tuners simultaneously.
A:AnswerThe quatro is compatible with the over the air antenna signal. Please note that this device by itself will not have a dvr functionality. A computer or a nas storage device is also needed to use as a dvr. The hdhomerun simply turns the antenna signal into an mpeg stream which the PC can understand and record to the PC hard drive(or nas). The PC will have to be on to record. There is also a small $35 yearly fee for the dvr service. You also need need something to plug into your TV to stream to like an Amazon fire stick or other device.
A:AnswerWired. No wireless. Though I guess you could put a wireless hotspot near this and then send it over wifi. Though you would probably need to be using a AC or AX wireless network.
A:AnswerThe quadro tuner will allow you to view from multiple devices your over the air content. If you also purchase their DVR service for only 35 a year you can record your over the air content. Be aware that you will need your own device to record with which setting up can be difficult but not necessarily so. You can use a PC with lots of memory but you will need to leave it on. You can also get a NAS storage unit but will need one that isn’t the cheaper options for ease of set up. The guide on both the over the air and DVR program is nice I like their slice guide option. Be aware what you mainly operate the app with...great interface through Xbox not so much on PS4. For Apple TV another HD tuner allows both cable and OTA but not the Quadtro. So not sure on the ATV. Hope this helps.
