QuestionDoes it tell jokes by topic - for example Trump jokes or Obama jokes?

- Answer I was curious so here is what I just tried: Tell me a joke about Donald Trump: "Sorry I can't help with that right now" Tell me an Obama Joke: (goes on a long explanation of Obama riding in a car with other foreign leaders that sounds like a news report) Tell me a joke about Barack Obama: "According to ___ joke website: It's so cold outside, Obama is keeping his hands in his own pockets" Then I asked it to tell me a "Yo Mama" joke, and it told me 4 of them, and all of them were pretty funny.

- Answer No, but look into integrating it with a Samsung SmartThings that can control locks and can be controlled by both Amazon Echo and Google Assistant. However be aware that it doesn't recognize who's talking so it will open the door to anyone that knows how to ask

QuestionCan google home speak or answer to foreign languages. Google now does speaks multi languages, but I don't know about google home can do this. I know Alexa can't speak foreign languages.

- Answer I have tried speaking in English and Spanish, and it can do that reasonably well. Another question posted was about Korean. I was able to get it to translate a sentence, but give I don't speak Korean I don't know if the response was accurate. You can set languages on it I believe, so that might be one avenue. It works if you prompt "Ok Google how do you say <fill in the blank>. in German? I only speak a little German, but it responded correctly.

QuestionI am 79 yrs old and have a desk top and lap top computer that I use every day. I have wireless internet/Wi-Fi and a smart TV But do not have a smart phone. I still use the old reliable flip phone. Do you have to use a smart phone to use this GoogleHome

QuestionIf not planning to create a smart home till a later time, would google home do the better job in keeping someone company with games and questions? From what I read Google home would be, then I read some prefer echo but echo only gives answers and not more

- Answer We don't have much to connect to it yet, but I like it. It can tell jokes, play games, music. We ask it how many grams in 2.5 ounces and such like that. It tells me about my day by telling me the weather and my schedule then launches into news from sources I picked. It does connect to our Chromecasts and our thermostat. But we don't have any smart lights or outlets yet. We hope to get a couple soon. I think Google Home is a great way to start.

QuestionDoes this $130 device do anything that I cannot do using the Google Home app on my computer or cell phone (which also allow me to give voice commands)?

- Answer Same Google Assistant in a stand alone device with speaker. My phone (Pixel) defers to the Google Home unit when in same area. The voice recognition is also better. You can literally be playing music through the device, say "hey Google" and it lowers the music, listens to your question, answers, and turns the music back up -- from across the room. If you like it on your phone, you will love it on its own. Easier to use and very convenient.

QuestionDeciding on google home or echo. Will google home play any "free" music, i.e. Local radio stations? We don't have a subscription to any streaming music site as we only listen to 10-20 songs a month.

- Answer As of typing this, Google Home will be able be able to stream free music from Google Play Music and Pandora. If you buy a Google Home before 12/31/2016, you will get YouTube Red free for 6 months (which includes Google Play Music premium subscription). You can also say, "OK Google, play 101.3," and the command will stream a local radio station using TuneIn Radio. Hope this helps! Google just opened the Google Home to all developers. It will only be a matter of time before the product has a lot more features and options.

- Answer Yes and no. You don't need a Chromecast, but Google Home only streams music content from the Internet and not from a local device. So you would simply ask it to play the songs from Google Play Music (a free 6-month subscription is included with Google Home). If you want it to play music that you own and that is also NOT available on Google Play Music, you'll need to upload those songs and podcasts to your personal Google Play Music library (you can upload up to 20,000 songs and stream them for free) using your computer, add it to a playlist and then you can request it to play through Google Home. There is a Google Play Music app for iPhone as well.

QuestionI know that Home plays free music on versions of Pandora, Spotify, etc. Do you set it up for only one service or can you set it up for multiple services. If multiple services, do you have to tell it which service to use or does it choose on its own?

- Answer Multiple services can be linked at once. The commands could change if you wanted to be specific or they could stay the same. Ex: "Hey Google, play a Top 40 playlist on Pandora." or "Hey Google, play my fire mix tape on Spotify." or "Hey Google, play some music from Broadway."

QuestionI initially set this up in Dallas. Now that I am back in San Diego California, the device does not recognize my new location. When I ask "Where is the nearest Subway?" It will give me a location in Dallas but not in San Diego. How do I correct this?
