Q: QuestionHi the Honeywell thermostat that I have only used two wires and also used two batteries can I still install the new Honeywell smart color thermostat or I need additional wires? Please I need some help your response will be greatly appreciated thank you.

• A:Answer In the pic. You’re showing the white wire (heat) and the red wire (24 volt Alternating current) Your current set up is for heat only, you should have a yellow wire (a/c) Green wire (ground) total of four at the minimum. Mine had six total wires, plus the jumper wire that is supplied. The instruction were clear, at least to me. The new Honeywell does NOT have OR NEED batteries. Once your new unit is installed follow the instruction to get the app after that programming is easy. Good luck, your local A/C repair company should be able to install this if you don’t feel comfortable doing it. Also big plus is the rebate

Q: QuestionMy customer wants to install this t-stat on a 2 wire heating system controlled by a “dry contact” Taco SR 504 relay. There is not 24 volts at the t-stat and I believe this thermostat needs a “common wire”. Can I use a 24V xfmr and remove jumper RC & RH?

Q: QuestionCan this be used to cycle just the fan at a set time period (say turn on every half hour for 5 minutes) just to keep the air flow going even if I don't need the AC or heat? I live in a very polluted area and want my air to be filtered.

• A:Answer It does have some capabilities but it doesn't appear that you can set a schedule as you describe. It appears you only have four choices a day to run the fan in circulating mode (without air or heat). I have found customer service is very helpful (so far) pre and post purchase. I had questions prior to buying the thermostat and they answered in a very timely manner. I have a small annoyance issue (nothing to do with function) and they are checking into that now for me. Good luck!
