Questionhow does this unit calculate or measure humidity? I see a humidity display , so there must be a sensor or calc.

- Answer The thermostat itself is a bit heavier than I thought it was going to be so I can only assume some of what I see sticking out the back of the case might be a sensor for just that purpose. Other than that you could ask Honeywell. Their customer service was very helpful at my pre-purchase stage with questions i had before buying the Thermostat. Good Luck!

- Answer Not exactly sure what you mean by two wire. Is it that you only have heating? If that is the case it will work for your heating system as long as it's a 24V system and you have a "C" wire or are able to get one connected to power the thermostat. You may need to get an HVAC company in to check your wiring before you purchase this. If you have more pre-purchase questions the customer service at Honeywell was great when I contacted them with questions. Good Luck!

- Answer The Honeywell TH9421C1004 thermostat connects with an Equipment Interface Module or EnviraZONE panel, to control temperature, humidification, dehumidification, and ventilation. In some systems, legacy wiring terminals are available. Legacy wiring terminals include; R, W, Y, G, and C. If legacy wiring terminals are available, a Honeywell Wi-Fi thermostat can be wired to those terminals to control the system. We recommend that you contact a Heating Ventilation and Zoning professional, for further consultation.

- Answer Yes, go to settings, preferences then backlight and turn down brightness to zero and light will go out after a few seconds and come back on when you touch the screen. If you don't want it to go out entirely, you can turn it down to one.

- Answer Your best bet would get a Google Nest, if you can afford it, it (Nest) does control both A.C. and heat and switches automatically.

- Answer I'm not an expert but this is how I understand it: These smart thermostats need 24V AC to operate. You will need a 'common' wire (usually referred to as a 'C' wire). 4-wire systems often do not provide the voltage loop required. The fan wire sometimes can used as a common but then you lose the option to control your fan. Not a great option. In my system I have a 'C' wire which is connected to ground. I get 24V AC from my 'R' wire (Rh or Rc). I have a 5-wire system. >>>There are ways to add a 'C' wire. Check out Venstar's add-a-wire for example. https://venstar.com/thermostats/accessories/add-a-wire/ Honeywell might have a similar option. Contact Honeywell's tech support. I find they are very responsive.

QuestionWhat happens if you lose electric for a while, will it keep its settongs?

- Answer Not sure how long it will keep those settings. If you have a Honeywell account those setting will be held and you can just push them back tot he thermostat when it is operational again. I did take mine off the wall after setting it up to check it on another mount downstairs (that one wasn't working (blown fuse at the furnace) so I was testing) then when I brought it back upstairs it was still set the way I had it and I didn't' have to do anything. It was only disconnected a short time though! Good Luck!

- Answer The Honeywell Home Smart Room Sensors work with the T9 and T10 smart thermostats. The Honeywell Smart Color Thermostat does not have the ability to connect to the Smart Room Sensors.
