QuestionIs the RAM expandable? What is the max capacity? What is currently installed (8 and 4 GB?)?

- Answer The ram is expandable, up to 128 GB as this is the maximum RAM that Windows 11 Home supports. The laptop has 2 RAM slots, which are already occupied by one 8 GB RAM stick and one 4 GB RAM stick, but you can replace either stick with a higher capacity RAM stick to increase the laptop's overall memory. (Keep in mind these are SO-DIMM and must be DDR4.)

QuestionDoes this model have a backlit keyboard? The specs show that it doesn’t, but the images show that it does.

- Answer No, tbt keyboard is not backlit. In addition, the letters on the keys can be difficult to clearly make out because they are a light, similar shade of silver; not enough contrast.

QuestionI can't install software outside of Microsoft. It shows an error. Also, the apps and feature menu is missing. Did anybody face this issue?

- Answer that is due to the s-mode that requires you to opt out of s-mode inorder to run any apps from the Play Store that are not Microsoft approved, i.e ZOOM, Chrome, etc.

QuestionIs the USB - C port capable of supporting a monitor? I have a USB-C to HDMI adapter to run two monitors and the USB-C port is not giving a signal to the 2nd monitor. I have a USB to HDMI adapter as well and that doesn't work either. Settings changed?

- Answer Thank you for the question. The Intel 11th Generation i5 processor has a stated maximum of 4.5 GHz. But, there is no single way to measure the performance of a computer processor today. Multiple technologies are in play and a processor can be really fast for one task and really slow when doing something else. It really depends on the apps you're using.

- Answer I would Highly recommend NOT doing so but there is a slim chance the graphics hardware could run Solidworks. It is deficient in RAM for this program out of the box but could be upgraded. The graphics though are woefully incapable and would require an external card and enclosure which would cast easily north of triple the price of this entire computer.

- Answer The Intel® Iris® Xe graphics on this laptop can support a maximum resolution of 4096 x 2304. If you're trying to drive two monitors plus the one in the laptop, the graphics system can't support all three. If you're not doing that, your next option is to contact the HP Support team so they can troubleshoot what's going on.

- Answer Hello, this is directly from the Go Pro website specifications for using HEVC. "HEVC is supported on Windows 10 computers using the Intel Kaby Lake (or equivalent) processor and newer. If your computer isn’t running Windows 10 / macOS High Sierra or newer, you will not be able to play HEVC files." It is always recommended for photography and video rendering to get a strong processor and a dedicated GPU. This device is a step under the i7 processor. Best Buy allows 14 days to utilize what you purchase and find out if it is meeting your needs. It is recommended to use the device to your maximum usage capacity and see if it fulfills the desired results. If not, exchange and upgrade to more powerful device within the 14 day window from purchase date. Thank you for being an HP customer!
