A:AnswerHi Mel! To detach the vent hose from the back of your Insignia portable air conditioner, follow these steps:
1.Start by turning off the air conditioner and unplugging it from the power source to ensure safety.
2.Locate the connection point of the vent hose at the back of the unit. It should be a twist-lock or snap-lock mechanism.
3.To detach the vent hose, gently twist or turn the connection point counterclockwise or pull it straight out, depending on the type of lock mechanism.
4.If the connection feels stuck, do not force it. Instead, wiggle the hose slightly while pulling it gently to loosen the connection.
5.Once the vent hose is detached from the unit, carefully roll it over to your tub to drain the water.
6.After draining the water, make sure to properly reattach the vent hose to the unit before turning it back on.
By following these steps, you should be able to detach the vent hose from your Insignia portable air conditioner without risking damage to the unit.

A:AnswerYour air conditioning is not something that runs constantly, so unless you live in a very hot climate, you can usually expect a recharge to last at least three years, so long as it doesn't leak out.

A:AnswerHello! Thank you for reaching out. Yes, you may keep your window screen if there is an open space to your window. However, we recommend minimizing any open spaces to ensure that the hot air from outside does not interfere with the cooling provided by the Portable Air Conditioner. I hope you find this information helpful! - Carl | Insignia Support
A:AnswerTo clean the filter of this Insignia™ - 350 Sq. Ft. Portable Air Conditioner you may check the following steps. Carefully pull the top of the grill away from your air conditioner, then pull the air filter up and out. Wash the filter in warm, soapy water, then let it dry. A:AnswerHello! If you're experiencing an issue with your Insignia 350 Sq. Ft. Portable Air Conditioner, you may need to drain the water from it. To do this, please follow these steps: First, carefully move your air conditioner to a location where you can easily drain the water. Next, remove the bottom drain plug and allow the water to flow away. If you don't have a drain, you can use a cookie sheet with sides or a shallow dish to collect the water. Once the water has drained, be sure to reinstall the bottom drain plug securely to prevent any leakage. Finally, restart your air conditioner to see if the P1 error code disappears. If the error persists, please contact a qualified technician for further assistance. A:AnswerAs long as the unit was kept in the operating position not laying down or anything it’s ok to start right away. If it was laying down or whatever it will need that same time to sit upright before running. Example it’s laying down an hour it will need an hour to sit in the correct position to start.
A:AnswerThe cord is about the same length as the exhaust vent tube which has to go outside. I believe the water can be continuously drained with hose via gravity, but I haven’t needed to do so. I just manually drain as needed.
