A:AnswerAs previously answered regarding this product.
This cable only goes one way, display port source to hdmi monitor or TV. I didn't try it the other way because the packaging warns that it won't work
A:AnswerThis is a 'passive' cable, and only works with DisplayPort version 1.3 and higher. a.k.a 'Dual Mode' a.k.a. 'DP++' . It didn't work on my DisplayPort 1.2. I had to buy an 'Active' cable which does the converting with a little circuit board built in.
A:AnswerYou would have to check if the hdmi port is installed correctly or you also have to make the laptop send the signal to the port many laptops have a screen symbol and to activate this function you have to use the "Fn" key and usually the "f6" key, I hope it helps you
A:AnswerBest Buy does carry something like that. However, it's like $70 to $80. It's just the nature of the system as the DisplayPort side needs a certain amount of power to activate and work. I use something similar myself but I had to order it from another source.
A:AnswerIMHO, this is a 'passive' cable and well made. It should work fine if your DisplayPort is version 1.3 or higher. Sometimes known as 'Dual Mode' or 'DP++'. My DisplayPort was version 1.2 (older) and this cable did not work for me. I had to get an 'Active' cable adapter which has a small circuit board (1.5"x1.5"x0.5") on the end of it which converts the signal from DisplayPort to HDMI. That worked on my version 1.2. This cable did not.
