Question4K and/or Surface Book Dock compatible?Can anyone confirm whether this cable is compatible with a 4k monitor? How about connecting to a 4k monitor through the new Surface Book Dock?

- Answer Don't know about dock throughput, but it does support 4K. I'm running 3840 x 2160 from my Surface Pro 3 to a 55" Samsung UHD Smart TV. Looks great!

QuestionPossible the TV is too old?Got this to connect my 4 year old MacBook Pro to my TV. It won't work. I know the cord works, because I took my computer and the cord back to BestBuy and tested it on one of their monitors and it worked perfectly. Naturally this makes me think my TV is the issue. It's a 4 year old Samsung, however there is only 1 HDMI channel so maybe it just doesn't have the input needed? Any help would be great.

- Answer You might need to go into your video options on the MacBook after connecting to the tv, and then select Discover Displays. Apple's OS' can be choosey when it comes to auto detecting external monitors. If you have El Capitan installed, when you go into your display options, you have to hold down a key to reveal "hidden" options to get where you need to go. You should find a tutorial easily on Bing or Google.

- Answer If you go to settings(looks like gears) on your laptop and select sounds, you will then see options for selecting what piece of technology would you like to use for the source for sound. Then you select the option that identities your tv i.e. Samsung. Then the sound will play immediately.The sound should then be heard through the television

- Answer This cable does not work with devices that have a Lightning port. This cable works for computers that have a Mini DisplayPort and monitors that have an HDMI input.
