- Answer You do not have to buy the entire unit. They do sell battery packs themselves that fit.

- Answer I have used the original XBox charger from Insignia for a couple years and I've had the S charger for three months - I always leave the batteries in the charger when not in use and they have not been hurt or lost life in any way

- Answer I installed it on a White Xbox One S. I know it fits on all the Xbox One S consoles, but not the Xbox One X, or the original Xbox One.
