QuestionGot brand new opened and put on charge. Used the first day done okay. Second day used but stopped and showed and said error code 31. Hit clean button and it run for a few more seconds and then give error code 31 again. What can we do for the error 31 code

- Answer We have the same concern with a 90 year old father. It does not and will come directly up to a person. We simply turn ours on when he is asleep or out of the home. You will need to make sure that it has returned to the base before your mom walks around.

- Answer Map out the upper level, and the lower level separate. Then you would pick it up and place in the lower level manually. Put it in the same spot and direction each time. Do this for different levels or rooms in your house that it needs help with.

QuestionHow does the Roomba s9+ deal with electrical cords?

- Answer You really need to pick them up. It will stop the rollers so it doesn’t damage the cord but it will often not be able to get out on its own. I have the keep out zones setup like around the Xmas tree where cords are present. I have found with tassels on rugs it recognizes them and spits them out.

- Answer My guess is you’ll have trouble but it’s only a guess. Short pile rugs the vacuum sometimes frays the edges of the rug. I think the rollers are too low.

- Answer Yes, but you want to run the first 5 cycles during the day with good lighting. This helps the sensors detect its environment. Otherwise you may have problems with the onboard map. Also, it’s not quite. Like at all. Don’t expect it to clean your room while you get some sleep unless your a haven’t sleeper.

QuestionI have highly polished porcelain tiles, looks like glass when cleaned. Will this clean the tiles as though the floors were mopped? I have no pets.

- Answer No it's not a mop.its a vacuum and normally you vacuum floors then mop. See companion braava mop robot for mopping.

QuestionHow does this robot vacuum clean multiple floors without having to move the base station? I understand that it maps different floors, but how exactly does it work?

- Answer The s9+ will store several floor plans, including those on different levels, and will continue to learn and perfect its cleaning behavior for each. This is all captured via the robot and shown in your app. The Clean Base simply provides charging and, in the case of the s9+, automatic dirt disposal. If you bring any camera-enabled robot (900-series, i-series or s-series) to another level without its base, it will simply return to where it started when its mission is complete.

- Answer Approximately 2,500.. this is up from 2,000 in the i7, which is 4x the power, and 40x the power of the 600 series. In real life.... it does excellent on hard floors and tile and rugs. On carpet it kicks into high suction and cleans surface dirt and a bit more. I have a medium length carpet that is extra thick and dense. It still does great, but will need the big upright (I have a Kirby) every once in a while, depending on the traffic in that area. For the guest bedroom, maybe once every 3 months. Hope this helps.
