- Answer The R-41SA is typically used as height or side/rear surround speakers. They are typically used in a set up that includes a subwoofer.

- Answer A passive speaker is a speaker that does not feature an internal amplifier. This means that a passive speaker will need to be connected, via speaker wire, to an external receiver/amplifier for power and to produce audio. Example: The R-41SA will need to be connected to a receiver/amplifier that supplies close to 50 Watts per channel at 8 Ohms.

QuestionAre these an alternative to SVS Prime Elevation speakers to add to 7.1 set-up, used a front height speakers in 7.1.2 Atmos set-up, by mounting them high up on front wall in down-firing angle (as room has high vaulted ceiling and front L/R are in-wall)?

- Answer for a 7.1.2 setup you would need a 9.1 receiver. Using atmos with a 7.1 receiver you get a 5.1.2 setup. atmos are considered stand alone height speakers. The need a dedicated output for a 7.1.2 setup.

QuestionWhat is difference between this speaker and RP-140SA.

- Answer These are the Klipsch reference line of speakers while the RP-140SA is the Klipsch premier line. These speakers have an aluminum tweeter, plastic tractrix horn and graphite woofers while the 140's have the titanium tweeter, a rubber tractrix horn and a cerametalic woofer. I had these speakers and had them as height speakers since I have vaulted ceilings and the reflection never worked but as height speakers the sounded great. I actually just swapped over to the RP-140SA's (being discontinued they are a good value now) and they hav a lot smoother sound to them.

QuestionIs there a toggle on the back to switch these from surround to Atmos. I have these speakers, but can’t locate the switch. Does have a switch? Like the klipsch RP-500SA Reference Premiere 5-1/4" 300-Watt Passive 2-Way Height/Surround Channel Speakers

- Answer There is no toggle on the speakers. The only way to use these for height is to connect them to a receiver that supports the Dolby Atmos format and has terminals for at least 7.1 speakers. Mine, and probably others, has a setting to assign two terminals to height instead of “rear surround.”

QuestionHow are these special compared to bookshelf speakers? Would I be able to just get bookshelf speakers and make an angled stand to get the same thing? Like how do these compare to 1065839 R-51-M?

- Answer I actually tried using an older pair of Infinity and Wharfedale bookshelf’s angled up towards the ceiling. But after getting the Klipsch I decided that fiber cones don’t perform/sound as well in this application.

- Answer 16 gauge is bare minimum at 25 feet, 14 gauge would best.

- Answer The proper installation is to wire to your receiver on its dedicated post for height/ceiling channel. If there is not an available pair of posts, you may need to upgrade your receiver to a Dolby Atmos ready receiver or a power amplifier may be needed for the additional posts depending on your receiver model.
