Question1) Can I specify to move only some of the applications from the old PC (e.g. Move Adobe Acrobat Distiller but leave MS Office apps)? 2) Can I move apps first and move data on another day (I have limited band width)?

- Answer Yes you can. You can run it as many times you want to on both machines. You can easily specify which programs, and folders, to transfer. Microsoft Office will not transfer as well as some propriety programs. The program will let you know which programd it is very confident will transfer without a problem, which programs it is not sure of, and programs it knows will not transfer correctly.

- Answer Yes! The desktop will be identical except for any programs that could not be transferred and you have an icon on the desktop. It will put a icon on the desktop though it may not look the same and the program will not run since it did not transfer over. Your background, screensaver, and settings will be identical.

QuestionCan this transfer from windows 10 pro to windows 11 home?

- Answer Yes, PCmover can be used so long as the target PC has an equal or newer Windows version. The Edition (Home or Pro) would not be a significant factor. Programs that are not compatible with Windows 11 might not transfer. Microsoft Office and other proprietary programs will not. It will tel you how confidant it is about how well it feels a program will transfer without problems.

- Answer It will not overwrite exiting files unless you tell it to. If they are "identical', then it should not matter. It will copy newer versions of the same file assuming it is in the same folder on both computers.

- Answer No. It is an ethernet "crossover" cable that allows two computers to talk to each other over the ethernet without a switch or router. Normal ethernet cables are made to plug into a switch or router.

QuestionI'm getting a new laptop because my current one is extremely slow. I've done all I can to fix this, to no avail. Will this program transfer any bug or whatever that might be causing the slowness, as well as my applications, documents, files, etc.?

- Answer Yes and no. It depends on what is causing the slowness. If you feel it is a program, then install the program on the new computer before transferring. Then you can use PCmover to transfer other folders, files, and settings. You need to look and the specs of your current computer. You need at least 8 gigs of RAM/memory. More is better if your motherboard can accept more. Sometimes your antivirus/security programs such as Norton and McAfee will cause a computer to be slow. Make sure you are running only one antivirus/security program. Installing a solid state hard drive will speed up an old and slow computer tremendously. Turning off programs that startup automatically when your computer starts up and runs in the background that you don't need to start automatically will help. Browsers such as Edge and Chrome will stay running in the background when you close them. This can eat up resources. Look for a setting in your browser for this and disable it.

- Answer Most PC BIOSes will allow you to specify which disk to boot from, so you should have no problem doing this even if you leave the old boot disk installed.

- Answer According to their website Yes. Only to the original PCs Old to New. Not Old to more PCs. But you can reverse your move from New to Old PC. You can use available Ethernet to manually COPY over your data or maybe some software but not MS Office 2010, which was the main reason I bought this utility. Hope this helps. Oh check out their website 1st before you buy. It'll answer most of your questions. Browse the whole website to answer your questions before you buy. Tech help was helpful though.

- Answer You don't download the CD. You install the program from the CD. PCmover will start to run and give you a welcome screen once it has been installed. If you are downloading the software from Laplink's software because you bought a digital download, then it works just like any other program you download from a website.
