A:Answer Sound bars are designed to do just that. The bottom several inches of most TVs are where the speakers are. Since the sound bar replaces the speakers you aren't covering anything up by placing it directly in front of your TV.
Because bass sound waves are longer than treble waves it is harder to tell where they come from. So a subwoofer can be placed pretty much anywhere convenient, as long as it doesn't fire directly into a surface, especially a soft surface. Also don't block the port (the hole) either. One caveat, subwoofers shouldn't be placed too far from the bar, or there could be less latency (delay) and more opportunity for Bluetooth dropout.
BTW; Wired subwoofers are sometimes better than Bluetooth. Bluetooth is cool and convenient but there is absolutely no latency or dropout with a wired bass speaker.
