Q: QuestionCan the height of this dishwasher be adjusted to 33 inches? Our countertop is only 33 inches from the floor.
Asked by Kelly.
- A:Answer No. It was shipped with the adjustment feet as tight to the dishwasher as possible, I assume to allow it to slip into the cavity as easily as possible. My cabinet’s cavity is exactly 34” high. After leveling the dishwasher inside the cavity, its top is only 7/16” from the underside of the countertop.

Q: QuestionHOW MUCH THE HAULING & ASSEMBLY WILL COST?
Asked by Anonymous.
This question was asked about the related product: LG - 24" Front Control Built-In Stainless Steel Tub Dishwasher with 3rd Rack, QuadWash, and 48dba - Black Stainless Steel
- A:Answer Best Buy typically charges between $149 to $199 for a basic dishwasher installation, and approximately $20 to $30 for their haul-away service for the removal of the old dishwasher. Before installation day, a Best Buy technician may conduct a pre-installation assessment. During this visit, they will evaluate your kitchen layout, plumbing situation, and electrical connections to ensure everything is set for a smooth installation. These prices may vary based on factors such as the type of dishwasher and any additional services required. It's advisable to get a detailed breakdown of the services provided during your consultation. If your kitchen has a pre-existing dishwasher space, installation could be more straightforward. However, if your kitchen requires modifications – such as plumbing adjustments or electrical work – expect additional costs. The installation cost of a dishwasher at Best Buy can vary significantly depending on several factors. One of the primary considerations is the complexity of the installation. For instance, if your existing plumbing and electrical setups are in good condition and compatible with the new dishwasher, the installation process will be straightforward, leading to lower costs. Conversely, if modifications are needed, such as rerouting plumbing or electrical work, the overall cost can increase substantially. If you need to disconnect your old dishwasher prior to installation, some stores may charge a separate fee. However, Best Buy’s installation service typically includes this in the base charge. Another factor to consider is the brand and model of the dishwasher you purchase. Higher-end models or those with advanced features may require more intricate installation processes. Additionally, local labor rates can impact installation costs. Therefore, it’s crucial to assess your specific situation and consult with a Best Buy representative for a more accurate quote based on your needs. Best Buy understands that some homeowners prefer to handle disassembly themselves to save money, while others may opt for the convenience of having Best Buy handle everything. If you choose to disassemble the old machine yourself, ensure you turn off the water supply and unplug the appliance before starting. Remember to take safety precautions to avoid any damage to the surrounding areas. For more accurate pricing, service details, and customer support, always check Best Buy’s official website or contact their customer service team...^Ivan.

Q: QuestionMy dishwasher stopped and is flashing a “bE” or “6E”. What is wrong?
Asked by Lyn.
- A:Answer Hello there, Lyn. We understand your inquiry about the "bE" or "6E" error code on your LG 24" Front Control Built-In Dishwasher. The "bE" error code typically indicates the use of an improper detergent or an issue with the appliance's leveling. To resolve this, please ensure you are using a detergent specifically designed for an automatic dishwasher and that the dishwasher is properly leveled. If suds are visible, you may also run an AUTO cycle with 4-7 ounces of milk in a shallow bowl on the upper rack to help eliminate them. If the issue persists, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport and our team will be more than happy to explore possible solutions. Q: QuestionLooking for a plug in dishwasher
Asked by Tab.
- A:Answer Hi there. Thank you for your inquiry about the LG LDFN4542S dishwasher. We understand you are looking for a plug-in dishwasher. This is a built-in dishwasher, and most built-in dishwashers are designed to be hardwired directly into your home's electrical system, which means they do not come with a standard plug-in power cord. The power cord is sold separately and is often a required accessory for installation. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-24-front-control-built-in-stainless-steel-tub-dishwasher-with-3rd-rack-quadwash-and-48dba-printproof-stainless-steel/6448637.p?skuId=6448637 If you have any further questions about the unit or its features, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport. Q: QuestionIt seems as if the draining is happening super often (every 5-10min) and is extremely loud. Is that normal? Is there anything I could do with the drain pipe and where it's going to reduce noise?
Asked by nolan.
- A:Answer Hello there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand that your LG 24" Front Control Built-In Tub Dishwasher (LDFN4542S) seems to be draining frequently and loudly. While some noises during dishwasher operation are normal, frequent and extremely loud draining every 5-10 minutes is not typical. This could indicate a few things: Clogged Drain Filter: A common cause of rattling or excessive noise during draining can be a loose or clogged drain filter. We recommend checking and cleaning the drain filter at the bottom of the dishwasher. Drain Pipe Obstruction: Food waste or other foreign objects can gather and clog the drain pipe, leading to loud gulping sounds. You might consider checking if the drainpipe (which connects to your sink drain or garbage disposal) is clear of obstructions or kinks. Water Pressure: Sometimes, a high-pitched whistling or loud water noise can be due to high water pressure. While this typically relates to water filling, it's worth noting if the sound is more of a whistling during draining. Drain Pump Issue: If the noise is a high-pitched whining or grinding, it could suggest an issue with the drain pump itself. Regarding reducing noise from the drain pipe, ensuring the drain hose is installed correctly and without kinks, and confirming that the air gap (if present) is clear can sometimes help. Some users also look into insulation around the drain pipe for noise dampening, but the primary focus should be on resolving the underlying cause of the frequent and loud draining. https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-dishwasher-common-noises--20151094805351 Your feedback is important, and we'd like to assist you further. Q: QuestionThe ending sound on this dishwasher is obnoxious. How do I turn it off or change it?
Asked by JERRYS.
- A:Answer Hello there, JerryS. Thank you for sharing your inquiry with us. We understand you're finding the ending sound on your LG LDFN4542W dishwasher to be bothersome and are looking to turn it off or change it. For many LG dishwasher models, including those similar to yours, you can often turn off the chime melody and button sounds. To do this, try pressing and holding the Half Load button for three seconds. If your model has "Dual Zone" and "Energy Saver" buttons, some users have reported that pressing and holding both of these simultaneously can also toggle the chime on or off. Please note that the error alert sound typically cannot be turned off. Q: QuestionI’ve had my dishwasher for almost 2 years now and have had no issues. This morning I set the timer before I left for work and the lights/power started flickering for a few seconds. It did this two times. Any idea as to why or what is causing this?
Asked by Riss.
This question was asked about the related product: LG - 24" Front Control Built-In Stainless Steel Tub Dishwasher with 3rd Rack, QuadWash, and 48dba - Black
- A:Answer Hello there, Riss. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re glad to hear your LG LDFN4542B Dishwasher has served you well over the past two years. We understand your situation with the flickering lights and power—let’s look into this together. In many cases, flickering lights or power interruptions can be linked to a temporary electrical fluctuation or an issue with the outlet's power supply. We recommend checking if the dishwasher is connected to a dedicated 15-amp circuit without any extension cords or multi-plug adapters, as these can cause unstable voltage. It’s also helpful to perform a simple reset by turning off the circuit breaker to the unit for about 10 seconds, then turning it back on to reboot the control board. https://www.lg.com/us/dishwashers/lg-ldfn4542b-front-control-dishwasher#pdp_specs If the issue happens again, we’d be happy to look further into it for you. Q: QuestionWhat type of detergent is best suited for this machine Liquid tablets fel
Asked by Camsiv.
- A:Answer I've used tablets and gels from both Finish and Cascade. Tablets clean heavily soiled loads better and may keep the machine itself cleaner. Gels are less expensive and perfectly fine for normal use but may not clean the heaviest loads as well. Any dishwasher approved detergent should work. Dish washing soap should never be used as it will cause excessive suds, poor cleaning, and possibly leaks.
