QuestionHow in God's name do you edit channels on this goofy device??? I get to channel manager, select the channel with the circled button so that it becomes checked....then nothing! nowhere to go! it won't take you to the three selections below!

- Answer Hi Leanna. A converter box does not give you the capability to record Over-the-Air (OTA) TV shows on a TV. It is needed for TV that do not have built-in tuners. You don't need one with the LG 28 inch Class HD TV (27.5'' Diag), Model # 28LM400B-PU because it has a built-in ATSC tuner which allows for the reception of OTA broadcasts when you attach an antenna to the F-Type, 75-Ohm, coaxial connector on the back of the TV labeled as "Antenna/Cable-In". You cannot record TV shows on a TV, you need a DVR for that which has a hard drive with storage capacity to save the recorded TV show in so you can play them back on the TV...^IFV

QuestionCan you confirm if this tv has an on-screen channel/tv programming guide for use with over the air broadcasts? Not something that just gives you information on the currently playing program, but that provides information on upcoming tv shows.

- Answer Hi Anon. TVs need to be calibrated to the room, and a brightly lit living room will have vastly different picture needs than a darkened custom home theater. Calibration settings for the LG 28 inch Class HD TV (27.5'' Diag), Model # 28LM400B-PU from one person may not work well for the room that you have the TV installed in if your environment is not the same as that for the room in which that person from who you are getting the settings from. Often the words "calibration" and "setup" are used interchangeably. This is incorrect. Setup is what you can do with the basic TV controls with either just your eye, or -- even better -- with one of the many excellent setup Blu-ray discs available. Calibration requires specialized test equipment, and a trained calibrator who knows how to use it...^IFV

- Answer Regrettably, the LG 28 inch Class HD TV (27.5'' Diag), Model # 28LM400B-PU does not have any audio outputs that you can connect to external audio devices. It does have an RCA input (Red/White) that you can connect to from an external device that has an 1/8 (or 3.5mm) ouput port so you can play through the TV's speakers...^IFV

- Answer Most current DirecTV receivers have a HDMI output for connecting to your TV. So you would connect a HDMI cable to the receiver and to one of the inputs on the TV. QuestionPurchased lg model 28M400B'PU a week ago. Specifically asked if it would work with mediacom cable without a box. Was told yes. I can not get it to find channels. Is there a trick to it or was i lied to? I have an sanyo and an rca that do not need a box.

- Answer The LG - 28" Class - LED - 720p - HDTV, Model # 28LM400B-PU has three built-in tuners, an ATSC tuner, an NTSC tuner, and a QAM tuner. The QAM tuner (quadrature amplitude modulation) is the format by which digital cable channels are encoded and transmitted via cable television providers. There is an F-Type, 75 Ohm, Coaxial connector in the back of the TV labeled "Antenna/Cable In" that you can connect the coaxial cable feed from your cable service provider then you will need to go into the TV's settings menu to set up the channels automatically. The TV will automatically memorize the channels that are currently being broadcast. The channels will not be memorized properly if the cable is not installed correctly. You can also set up the channels manually...^IFV

- Answer The LG 28 inch Class HD TV (27.5'' Diag), Model # 28LM400B-PU can be used as a computer monitor. In PC mode,there may be noise associated with the resolution, vertical pattern, contrast or brightness. If noise is present, change the PC output to another resolution, change the refresh rate to another rate or adjust the brightness and contrast on the [Picture] menu until the picture is clear. The TV may have a slow response time from your keyboard or mouse commands. and in general, TVs don’t display text, as well as a computer monitor, which is specifically designed for that purpose. The TV has built-in tuners so if you are only planning to use the TV strictly as a computer monitor, you will have paid for a feature that you do not use...^IFV
