QuestionWill this replace an old Netgear Univ. WiFi Internet Adapter WNCE2001 now hooked up 2 my TiVo w/ethernet cable? The old Netgear also had 2 plug into elect. power; does this Linksys not need to? Also, will I have to download drivers for this to work?

- Answer This does not plug into a power outlet. It plugs into a usb port. A cd comes with it that has the drivers on it for the adapter. On my windows 10 laptop I didn't even need the cd. Sorry I can't answer about your TiVo, I don't know anything about them :(

- Answer Hello, Did you push and hold the button on the AT&T modem for 3 seconds so the computer can find the signal? Also, did you have the modem password for the network? I hope this helps. -MGB

- Answer I also have 2 wifis, 5G and regular. The adaptor sees the 5G but won't connect on my older PC. I don't know if it's the adapter or my PC. The regular wifi works pretty fast.

- Answer I have used this modem with my Verizon hot spot and it works. If you want it to work in other countries you probably should check with your provider to see if your hot spot or tethering device is capable of working in those countries you plan to visit.

QuestionWill this work for Virtualbox machines?I have kali linux in a Virtualbox environment I have installed on Linux Mint. I need to get this Kali vm online to install updates and get connected to a network emulator ran by a program on my local machine called CORE. Would this solve that problem? Would it allow me to connect my vm to my local host internet?

- Answer I cannot speak for a Linux host but I use this adapter on a Windows 10 host for about 8 VM's on Virtualbox made up up Windows and Linux clients. It works fine without any issues.

- Answer Hi, dpe. This wireless adapter supports the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, at the same time supporting the 20 MHz, 40 MHz and 80 MHz channel widths. As long as your computer doesn't have a Wi-Fi capability, it should work fine with this adapter once properly configured.
