QuestionDoes it have to go above a fireplace? Or can I use it somewhere else as long as its set up good?

- Answer YES you can install it anywhere you have studs on the wall. If we had installed it above our fireplace we would have been limited to a 55 inch TV. Instead, we purchased a 77 inch TV by placing the mantel mount on a wall that was the right distance from the viewing area. Some mounting hardware alternatives pull out and only swivel from side to side. We like the MantelMount because it ALSO pulls up and down. We actually have a love seat under ours, and in the "down" position it even clears the loveseat. If you hire Best Buy's Geek Squad to do the installation, be sure to request a team experienced with the MantelMount install specifically. Our first team did not install it right, but Best Buy was excellent at sending a second experienced team who installed it perfectly.

QuestionI have a 45”w x 36” h x 3.5” deep recessed section of wall above my mantel where I want to install this mount ? My fireplace projects out 14” from back of recessed wall to front of mantel . I have 75” tv with solace sound bar . Will this mount work?

QuestionCan you use the MM700 in reverse-push up instead of pull down

- Answer When installed following the instruction book -- the Mantel Mount does not have a reverse push-up feature. Once installed for the maximum height point, it pulls down for lower eye level viewing options and for swiveling side to side. It can then be lifted back up to the original starting position as desired. We leave it in the higher position when viewing across the room at a dining table, and bring it to the lower position for closer viewing at the sofa. - Answer Thats hard to answer b/c for several reasons. One is the back of your TV and where the attachment points are on the TV. The metal attaching frames may be too long for a 42. I think The only way to really know is to buy the mount and test it out before the return date. The other issue is the larger mount is designed for a heavier TV and may not be able to adjust down the tension. I put a 65" on it and i practically had to remove most of the tension so my TV would stay in the full down position. I emailed the company and they responded with an answer in a couple days. good luck

- Answer You create "serice loops" for your cables and power cord. You can see my silver HDMI cable in the attached photo. Power and 2 other HDMI cables are also run the same, but they are black and harder to spot.

- Answer The side tilt and the up down tilt is limited in motion. It works for my open space but could be better. I really love the pull down feature.

QuestionLooking to replace my existing mount with this MM700. I have a recessed frame around current mount to be 1” approximately. Height is 14” and width is 24”. Can I cut the wall plate to accommodate the width? Will mount Arm hit frame since it’s recessed 1”?

QuestionWhat are the distace between the 4 holes used to bolt the mount to the wall? I slready have some holes on my fireplace and want to know if those can be used or I need drill new ones.

- Answer The Wall Plate has a C Channel that can accommodate a lot of different sizes (horizontally). Vertically, it's about 12.5" from the center of the wall plate holes. There is not just 4 distinct holes. Instructions state it can accommodate studs up to 24" apart. The C channel does have supports spread out which may or may not conflict with your stud placement. For example, mine were 15.5" on center and I had to cut the wall plate to accommodate (per the company) in order for the TV to be centered.
