QuestionI really need to find a way to soak clothes in this washer. I've read all the Q&A but none of it seems to work. Has someone managed to get this to happen. I want to soak overnight.
- Answer i finally figured out a way to soak cloths over night ... After the washer is done filling up with water hit the pause button do not open lid the machine will stay paused walk away and return when your done soaking push pause button again and cycle will continue from where it was paused. This is the only way that I have found that allows you to soak your cloths. Do not leave the lid open or you will come back and find the washer empty.. Hope this helps ! ! !
QuestionDoes the agitator move the clothes sufficiently to get it clean to your satisfaction? For those who previously had a no-agitator washer, are your clothes now cleaner with the agitator? Also, was your new Maytag delivered to you in an enclosed box?
- Answer Agitator moves sufficiently, but very little water. Some clothing and bedding have been damaged due , I think, to the lack of water. I have always had an agitator washer, with lots of water, so clothes were always clean and well rinsed. No, my new Maytag It did not come in an enclosed box that I saw, unless it was unpacked on the truck. I am looking for a possible replacement. The washer is pretty to look at and has nice sounds, but still, I can't afford to have my clothing damaged.
QuestionDoes this have a "soak" option? Does the tub drain if you open the lid and just let it sit, full of water?
- Answer The machine turns off after a few minutes of not being in use, and it drains. I am still trying to figure out if there is a way around this for soaking.
QuestionSome reviews have commented that this model is very quiet and some have complained that's it's very noisy. How to know if I should get this? I don't want a noisy machine.
- Answer I've had it for almost a month. Think it's one of the noisiest machines I've ever heard. I have it in a small room that has tile on the floor so I put a rug down and that's helped a little. I also am having problems with soap scum being left on my dark clothes. I would definitely look at buying a different machine if I were you!
QuestionDoes this have a feature to raise the water level if necessary. Or does it just sense the weight?
- Answer yes you can fill it up.
QuestionCan I chose the speed of the spin cycle so clothes are not so dried out and wrinkled? Is there a slower spin?
- Answer Yes, there is a button to change spin speed, I tend to choose a slower speed and avoid "Max Extract" which is the fastest speed as my experience has been that this wears the bearing out faster meaning repairs (at over $250 a pop) more often.
QuestionMy MVWB765FW Maytag was purchased new in September of 2017. Six months later, it has started making a very loud, screeching/screaming noise during the spin cycle. I cannot imagine that the bearings will last long. Anyone else have this noise issue?
- Answer Have had ours for 12 months and started it tonight, also now has this horrible squeeling noise while spinning and filling with water. Not sure if this is a problem with Maytag washers, but before finding the results on here for this one, older models of Maytag washers seem to have reports of this high pitched squeeling. Also very disappointed, researched, have not been happy with the results, the detergent left on everything washed, or the water left in the trays after every single load, which are now rusting.
QuestionIf I pause the washer WITHOUT opening the lid, can I leave it in this pause mode for an indefinite period of time? Or will the water drain out after a certain period of time, even though the lid isn't open?
- Answer Yes you can leave it in pause mode and the water will not drain out.. Make sure you wait until the machine finishes filling up with water at the beginning of the wash cycle then hit the pause button do not open the lid. I walked away and returned the following morning and all the water was still in the machine I hit the pause button again and washer continued the cycle where it left off .... Hope this helps .
QuestionWhat does audio level mean on the maytag 5.3 top load with sanitize and steam
- Answer Audio level is the option to adjust volume of the signal that sounds at the end of cycle and key pad sounds.
QuestionAt initial fill (not at rinse), what is the highest water level you get? A Maytag commercial says up to 14", but even our king comforter only got about 5" max at initial fill.
- Answer Yes 14" is the max. To get the most water possible use the bedding cycle with the deep fill option. This is also supposed to be the only rinse cycle that fills the tub with more water.
QuestionWhen my washer sits idol, water periodically runs into the tub from up under the dispensers. Is this normal?
- Answer This is my suggestion, as it is what I do. When I am done with the washer for the day, I carefully remove the dispenser tray. It always has residual water in it. I take it to the sink to empty and leave it upside down in the sink to dry. There is also some water left in the place where the dispenser comes out of so I dry it with a microfiber towel. It may take a few minutes but in the long run it will keep your washer from smelling moldy. It’s just the way it is, and this washer is so much better than the three (3) year old front loader I had to get rid of due to it smelling and my clothes smelling even though I took very good care of it.
QuestionCan I wash a king size comforter in it?
- Answer Yes, we have washed a king size quilt with no problems, but you do have to wash it alone as washing it with more will cause it to vibrate to the point of moving, because it is over loaded.
QuestionIt still isn't clear whether or not new hoses are included. When I go through the check out process it's not prompting me to buy new hoses so I assume they're included but the replies to another person who asked the question are mixed, so which is it?
- Answer It comes with the drain hose, but the hot and cold fill hoses are separate purchases. Or just use your old ones.
QuestionConsumer Reports rated this machine Fair/poor on "Gentleness." I am having second thoughts. How does the machine perform on a gentle or hand wash cycle? Does it tear up clothing and wear clothing out on regular cycles? This is my one hesitation....help
- Answer Nah, it's fine. The cool thing is that you can adjust the agitator speed (it's referred to as "soil level" in the dial), which is what beats up the clothes. If you are super worried about the clothes, just put that setting on low. You have the ability to adjust temperature, spin speed, and agitator speed.
QuestionHi, Is this a new model? I saw it at the store today and came home to look up reviews and can't find any. Thanks.
- Answer Hi there, i just spoke with the sales associate at best buy today 11/04/16 and he said this model is actually brand new only came out within last couple of days thats why it has hardly any reviews! I was wondering the same thing myself.
QuestionDeep water does not inc water level. Don't see any diff in agitation speeds. Clothes don't seem to agitate, stay in same positions. Spin pushes them to sides. How do I know if this machine is working properly?? Lg load not clean 2nd wash for same items.
- Answer For a complete DEEP FILL you must select both DEEP FILL and BEDDING options before starting. With these both selected your washer should fill almost to the top of the agitator. Perfect for large loads or smaller loads where a lot of water will assure complete and thorough rinsing.
Questiondoes the machine use normal detergent or does it require the special detergent with the (GE) symbol.
- Answer "The washer is designed to use only HE High Efficiency detergents"; Is stated on the front page of my manual and is further discussed on page 4. So, a direct answer to your question is: 1) No, the washer is not designed to use "regular detergent" --it is designed to use "High Efficiency" detergent. and 2) Users should look for detergent in a container marked "HE" or "High Efficiency". 3) The detergent does not need to be marked with the (GE) symbol. With all that said, I intend to use up the small amount of detergent I have on hand. Cheers
QuestionAre other people having issues with dark colored clothes having lint and white spots on them? After months of research I bought this machine. I have only had it a week, but I am disappointed with my dark colored clothes looking dirty. Any suggestions?
- Answer Absolutely have this issue. I have given up on any hope of having an energy and water efficient washer with this one. I always have to use maximum fill setting, and use deep wash, High soil level and every other thing I can and STILL I have an issue with white spots on navy or black clothing.
QuestionWill the deep fill option work with any setting or only when using the PowerWash? I selected it on both the normal setting and again tried on the wrinkle setting, but the water barely covered the clothes rather than filling to just under the agitator cap
- Answer If you select BOTH the DEEP FILL option and the BEDDING option together your washer will fill almost to the top of the agitator during wash and rinse cycles. Use this for large loads or smaller loads where a deep fill is desired to insure very complete rinsing of detergent residues.
QuestionPlease tell me why the water level is low and also which cycle allows more water in the tub of the washer?
- Answer Yes all new washers have load sensing to "save water" I always use the Deep Fill option and it fills to about 3/4 full. witch is adequate. It stays on once you activate it. Unless you change wash cycles. Just look at the water level display before pushing start.
