Q: QuestionDo you need a homepod or appletv to use this with HomeKit?
Asked by Rwbisme.
- A:Answer No, these work with the homekit app regardless of your other accessories, just note that without a HomePod mini it requires a Bluetooth connection to connect to the bulb (meaning you can’t turn it on and off from far distances). If you have a HomePod mini in range of the lightbulb then it will make a thread network and you can use the bulbs from the homekit app from anywhere. The lights also work with the nanoleaf app (which you will need to update the bulbs)

Q: QuestionCan these be set to react to audio like the Nanoleaf Shapes do? Thanks!
Asked by Exo.
- A:Answer No, but you can have them use the same Dynamic scenes as your light panels (where the colors change according to a particular program options and settings) I find that if I have the Dynamic scene use the same color palette as the Rhythm scene, they work well enough together that i don’t really notice, but my bulbs are located peripherally to my light panels - I might feel differently if they were right next to one another.

Q: QuestionCan I screw this into any lamp for it to work or do I have to buy something specific? Is there anything else I need to buy for this to work? Like a remote or something?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hi! No need to purchase anything extra. The Bulb has a fitting base of E26, which will fit in the majority of the sockets. You will need a smartphone or computer (iOS/Android or the Desktop App) to download the Nanoleaf App and from there you’ll be able to control it. If you have more questions please reach out to our product support team and we would love to help you out.

Q: QuestionAre these upgradable to Matter?
Asked by BobM.
- A:Answer Thank you for reaching out Bobby and we hope you are having a wonderful day! Sorry, but the current Essentials Products we have out right now won't be supported by Matter, even with future updates since Matter Bulbs have a different technology and requires a different kind of chip. We do have new and more amazing products that would be able to support Matter! We’re continuing to build Matter into future products, including an upcoming line of smart controls to enable more seamless automation. This will help you make an even smarter home, set for release this 2023.

Q: QuestionCan these be used outside in a porch light fixture?
Asked by JJJJ.
- A:Answer You can but it isn’t recommended. The bulbs are not rated for a damp area. Humidity levels outside cause that to be a damp area. Additionally you don’t want a fully enclosed fixture either
