A:AnswerYou do need a service provider for this to work. Mine is our Cable/internet provider. I did have to call them when I bought this so they could set it up on their end after I installed it. It will have paid for itself in under a year by not having modem rental fees.
A:Answerdefinetely!!! it's been working great and ill even be playing while others around the house are on other things like hulu and netflix and it didn't give me any problems but it also depends on your bandwidth and how strong of a service you have, but remember positioning and other things can be a factor when it comes to messy signal.
A:AnswerI can't say for replacing that specific modem, but I know that Comcast just came to make sure our speed was working properly. We're using this cable modem with Comcast and Google Wifi and getting wifi speeds ~130-170 mbps no problem.

A:AnswerThe salesman in the store said this would NOT work with WOW in Evansville, IN so I bought the Arris Model SB6141 which they assured me would work with WOW. The Arris does work with WOW after you call them to set it up remotely.
