A:Answer there is a bit of set up to do. if you are tech-savvy, the set up will be five minutes. if you are not tech savvy, then the set up time may be 15 minutes or more, but it is not a whole lot more than just entering the original router's wifi name and wifi password, as if you were making these same entries on a smartphone. If you are not comfortable doing that, i suggest finding a friend or family member that is tech savvy to help you. nowadays, all computer wireless devices should be locked down with passwords, so setting this device up properly is very important. once it is set up, it works very well for amplifying a weak signal from an existing wireless router.
I set this up this device for my mom, where her landlord's router was broadcasting a very weak signal. I set this device up halfway between her landlord's router, about 20 feet away, and my mom's laptop on her desk, another 20 feet away, and now she has a nice, strong signal at her laptop, where before she had a very weak signal that was constantly dropping out and practically useless.
