- Answer Your question is somewhat vague, but in my response I am presuming that your are asking what default encryption does this device come with. If that be the case you could go to the following link link: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/R8000/R8000_UM_8Jul14.pdf for the device manual. 1) Hit CTRL + F on your keyboard, after the manual is populated in your browser. 2) Type: WPA in the search box 3) Just hit the Enter key to see each information I think the following pages should best provide answer to your question: Pages 4, 11, 13, 14, 18, and 19. QuestionI live in the country and am in a rule internet zone and I play like Playstation and Xbox and can barely get in to a lobby on black ops and when I do I lag so much I get kicked from the lobby will this make my games have no lag and to where its super fast

- Answer That is what I am using it for, so yes. Connect a network cable from the WAN port of the X6 to one of the LAN ports on your Verizon router, then follow the setup guide. You will also need to be able to access your Verizon router to turn off it's WiFi.

- Answer Yes it needs an internet connection to work. It doesn't "create" one. Internet doesn't work like that. It has to come from somewhere. This router just allows your connection to be spread out.

QuestionI have verizon services. Do I have to have a verizon router at the lowest speed 25/25 along with this one? I am confused on how to get the fastest internet speeds? Or do I just need to have the basic internet connection through my provider?

- Answer Your speeds will depends on what speeds tou gett8n6g from your provider. Getting the lowest speeds from the service provider and getting gigabit router wont change your connection or download speeds.

- Answer I had the same issue. I found that you need to turn off your modem and router then start with turning on modem then the router. It's a IP address conflict, but that is what I did and I am up and running.

- Answer Not by itself but placing the router in the open as high and in the center of house helps. If it has issues with weak signals you may need to get extenders.

- Answer I found the app that it comes with did not work on windows 10, but using the Windows router setup wizard worked just fine. I am able to manage the router from the web portal without any issues. All of the computers connected to it is windows 10 and it works great.
