QuestionI have an old house with walls made with plaster. My current network has some difficulty transmitting throughout the home. That said, my current network is several years old. Will this product work with solid walls? Thanks

- Answer My home is 5100 sq ft L-shaped, two floors and made out of stone, brick and stucco with spray foam insulation in every wall, ceiling and attics. This is the strongest network that I have found after years of trying access points and extenders.

- Answer I can say I have my satellites 60 feet plus away from my router and I see no loss. I also test my speed over 200 feet away without loss.

- Answer i have a 4000sq ft house with many walls (4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, numerous closets and storage). This system hasn’t failed me yet. My only hiccup was getting wifi outside on my 2 acres. I just purchased the exterior extender last week. I installed it near by my pool area, about 50 feet from the main Orbi. So far its great but havnt gone to the end of the property yet. I was mainly wanting my pool area covered which this system was having a difficult time reaching the pool area. But inside, great coverage with over 30 devices connected to it.

QuestionI noticed that when you order the RBK-44 vs the RBK 43 the routers are the same but the satellites are different. The RBK 44 (4 satellites) come with model RBS 20. The RBK 43 (3 satellites) come with model RBS 40. What is the differences between them?

- Answer Yes, seems to be the same product, just a sky name difference for the additional satellite. I purchase the 4 and we are very happy with it’s performance.

QuestionWhen you connect to the router with the orbi is there some kind of security like a password to gain access?

- Answer Yes, but if you approve the connection on your phone App, no password is needed. FYI, the password is located on the sticker and underneath the main router.

QuestionI have the 4 pack Orbi system. I live in a large log home with solid exterior logs and many interior wood walls. Many times the signal goes out or is very low. What can I do to improve the signal strength? Can I add more satellites?

- Answer You can add more or strategically placed the satellites. Believe the app has a tool to help assist with locating the satellites.

- Answer The ORBI device acts as a router itself so as long as your provider provides you with at least 1 rj-45 connection you should be able to plug that into the primary ORBI Router and it will handle all your router functions from that point on.

- Answer Have a satellite in my garage in northern Ohio. Temps have been in the teens and the router hasn't showed any issues.

- Answer as long as your modem can provide an rj-45 connection and an IP address to the ORBI you should be able to use it.

- Answer I have > 50 devices connected with the only issue being my RECTEC pellet grill WiFi that only works with a 2.4 network. It is located on a patio in the remote back corner of my acre lot and the 5.0 network is so strong it reaches that area and I can't connect to it. All my other devices that say they prefer 2.4 are all connected with no issues.

QuestionWill Amped Wireless or some other app measure Orbi signal strength?

- Answer When I bought mine I put my phone in airplane mode. Then turned wifi on so I would only test the wifi signal then walked to each room of my house and tested the wifi strength with a speed test app. Worked great!!

- Answer Yes, absolutely, but any provider will work. The Orbi just distributes the signal wirelessly and by hard wire within its broadcast limits.

- Answer no, they are not designed to be connected via wires. The ORBIs will set up their own dedicated 5G connection in the background for communication. However, they do work best if each of the satellites can access the main ORBI directly. They can daisy chain if they are too far but that does have a minor affect on speed. This is basically not noticeable for the average user. The wired ports on the back of the device are there to provide wired connections to devices from the ORBI, not to another ORBI.
